My junior and senior year literally everything was online even though we went to class. It got to the point where I did not even take anything to school besides my tablet.

It's not going to be long before all courses are online with optional class meetings.

BS. Any lab based science class with a strong lab component cannot be taught online or done at home. No strong engineering classes should ever be done online due to the hands on nature of the classes.
Higher education will be dramatically different in 50 years. I think he is off base that it will happen quickly. Institutions resist change. But in time it will be very, very different. And on-line will be a very large part of it. People may be Skypeing into their University of Michigan class from Colorado Springs.

Part of the reason airline companies are hurting is teleconferencing. Things are changing.
