Then why are there a handful of UCF fans that come running over to the Big East board everytime USF schedules somebody? Having UCF fans over here isn't a big deal, I love message boards with fans from all different teams and conferences, that makes it a great community. But you have a number of UCF fans throw a fit every time USF schedules someone not named UCF. Reminds me of Miami-OH fans who go bonkers everytime there is a rumor that Cincinnati might cancel the series.

It was a BAD deal. As I said I dont mind playing WKU if it was a 2-1 deal or had we signed another team for a 1-1. If we had 2-1 deals with other sunbelt teams we should had strived for that.
But I can clearly understand not playing UCF yearly at this time.

No ones blaming USF. Its part of the headache of being in an 8 team conference.

Personally I find it amusing that USF's administration talks about how they only do 1 for 1s with BCS schools. Then, for various reasons, they can't get enough of those games to fill their schedule, so they're left scheduling games like this and the 1 and 1 with Ball State they also have on the schedule. It's obvious to everyone involved that it would be better for them to schedule an annual UCF game than play on the road at places like WKU and Ball State. Both in the straight payout and the travel expenses, it makes loads of sense, not to mention the increased press and TV coverage throughout the state for the game. Heck, even the Tallahassee Democrat, which is pretty sure Miami doesn't exist much less UCF or USF, even had a write-up about it this past year. Both schools gain a lot by playing the game, and it's not nearly so bad if we were to beat them as USF thinks it would be...Colorado doesn't get kicked out of the Big 12 when they lose to Colorado State after all.

Actually...USF is doing both.

Playing a Div I-AA school, plus, now signing a home-home series with a current Div I-AA school (WKU) who won't be eligible for Div I-A status till 2009.

That was a scathing commentary by the Tampa USF Beat Writer about how USF dropped UCF and ran to home-home series with Ball St and now WKU...which will garner very little attendance and most likely zero national tv exposure...and zero help on the recruiting trail.

LOL. Well we dont tell you who to play so you shouldnt either. If you want to save money in travel no one is stopping you guys from signing series with FIU and FAU.

As someone said for afan base that keeps saying it doesnt matter playing USF, you guys spend a lot of time crying about it.

Quote:Your opinion only that he's a "cheerleader" for USF. I'm guessing he posted one positive article about USF and you labelled him a cheerleader. Just because you do articles on a team or cover them doesn't necessarily make you a cheerleader. But, as I said, you seem to be bitter that USF isn't playing you. This post by you proves that:

Greg Auman works for the paper that actually pays USF to be the offical paper of USF. Also, everyone knows what he is to USF.

Quote:What excuses? That you're still throwing a hissy fit because the USF-UCF series is cancelled? You sound like someone who can't accept the fact that USF has moved on.

Mark me down for one that does not want to play them. I live in Tampa and I have Buc's season tickets. If UCF is going to have away games, I would much rather go to BC and UM as I am this year. Watching college games in a stadium with only NFL logos all over it is not the college atmosphere I enjoy. And if you are calling games against Ball State and WKU as moving on then you are showing your ignorance yet again. While the usf fans on this board will hide behind their hatred of UCF, fact is, and I know this from living in Tampa, that the local media and most of their fan base is pissed over the dropping of UCF for games like this.

With all due respect and doing my best to avoid any indication of getting involved in a squabble with UCF/USF.

Being a "BCS" team signing a home and home deal with WKU does not look very good. I think you have to be honest about that.

Topcard

no ONE on the USF boards is happy with the 1-1 deal with WKU. No ONE is disagreeing with it.
What Im trying to point out is that USF has its reasons for NOT playing UCF and if UCF fans DONT care about playing USF then they shouldnt be on this or any other board trying to show its a good deal.

The reality is that it doesnt matter what people write on this board or any newspaper USF has decided NOT to continue playing UCF and will NOT change their mind just because people post crap.

Florida cancelled their long series with UM and all the Hurricane fans called them chicken gators etc but that did NOt change UF's decision. Im sure USF-UCF will play again but USF has the advantage now and wont happen until our administration decides. Just like USF can NOT force UF,FSU nor Miami to play us, the ball is on their court.

Well Ill try to enjoy them as much as our last three butt kicking of your team.
Now that was hilarious 31-14, 24-17 and 64-12.
We are still laughing from that last one. 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

You see that is where you are wrong. UCF has managed to replace USF with BC, NCSU and Miami. USF has replaced UCF with Ball State, WKU and Miami. UCF also plays 8 conference games a year, USF 7. From what I can tell, UCF does not need this game at all.

With OOC home games against Wofford, FIU, Miami, Samford, WKU, FAU, Ball State, USF fans better pray that the Big East has more than Rutgers and WVU. No disrespect to the rest of the league but Cincy, UL and rest of the big east is not going to draw well in Tampa unless they are ranked.

Ah...looks like there is MORE than a few USF fans who are HAPPY about signing a home-home series with WKU.

From the USF Boards: (Guess Cubanbull missed this one...as while some posters are against it...several others are FOR IT)

I must have missed it but was Louisville ranked last year when they came to Tampa?
attendance 57,288
Was Cincy ranked when they played USF? Nope
attendance 57,379

Reality is that as long as USF wins we will be fine.
You also forget to mention USF will be playing NCST, Michigan State, Indiana and Miami THREE times at home.
