Didn't say it was perfect correlation. Ball state is an outlier although they were only that bad because of a lot of injuries. I suspect its based on reputation which includes more than one year.

Ball State hasn't had a winning season since 2013.

The only teams with a lower recruiting ranking than Ball State are Akron, BG, and Kent State. Nothing surprising there. Akron last year was a bit flukey.

According to 247, Ball State is #64 nationally and #4 in the MAC recruiting.
