Actually does. Looking at attendance these days that'd be a nice idea for the hyames end of the field if they ever do away with the current center.

RE: New shiny object in Mt. Pee
I'm not crazy about it. It is certainly a huge upgrade from what is currently there. It just seems...uninspired. Looks like an office building with a patio about 6 feet from the endzone. It doesn't even close in that side of the stadium, which makes the whole thing look out of place.

I also question their ability to raise the necessary funds, considering the university is in debt is not likely to help foot the bill.

The renderings are radically different from this article that came out earlier in the year: http://www.cmuchippewas.com/sports/m-foo...18aaa.html

Miami's new facility looks better (and was $6 million cheaper than CMU's projected price tag): https://www.givetomiamioh.org/s/916/grad...&pgid=8288

All things considered, I like our East endzone combination of seating/Seelye Center better than either of these.

Both of them would be an improvement over what we currently have and it’s not even close.

I’ve walked through NIU’s alumni center (very similar to these renderings) and it’s very cool. We could use something similar.

I think having it on the Seelye side makes the most sense, personally.

My strong suspicion is that the Chippewa Tribe will pay at least a portion of the cost with mandatory 2% casino profit sharing. The tribe has the discretion how the 2% funds get distributed, but this is the type of project that typically will get money.

I think the facility looks decent, and appropriate for CMU's stadium, which has very little style to begin with. That end zone it their stadium needed something bad.

Key quote from the MLive article "Currently, there isn't a set time frame for when the center can be built, because the project is still in its fundraising phase, Knight said. The amount of money raised from those efforts has yet to be determined, he said."

I'm guessing ChipDip would have said something like "That’s one d*** big tool shed" or something like that.

Yeah, anything is an improvement over the inflatable CMU helmet from 1993.

Yeah, their current end-zone building is pretty darn ugly.

32 Million Dollars, what a waste of money.

They should fund raise and use that money to endow their medical school, which is nearly flat-lining from lack of funds.

So they want to build a new and bigger tool shed in that endzone for all the CMU tools to gather.

OK. We'll see. I'm thinking later rather than sooner.
