I think the job is Carr's to win or lose in the off season, but I'm not convinced Majerle is enamored with either player. Statistically speaking, they weren't all that different from each other in 2016-17. I might give Shaq the nod because he distributes the ball, but he is also a turnover machine. Shaq is a little better shooter than Fiifi, but doesn't look for his shot as often.

Coach has expressed that he believes Fiifi's ceiling is really high, so we will see what comes from him with maturity. Keep in mind, too, that Majerle likes to have 2 PGs on the floor at the same time. One of them has to start, but they will probably plsy together a lot, too.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the staff target a PG grad transfer to sure up the back court. I can't see Coach trusting an incoming freshman (Milstead) or project player (Sankare) to fill in if Fiifi or Shaq were to go down. Given the rash of injuries GCU had last season, I have to think it is a consideration.
