The Big East's refusal to add available talent like Memphis and UCF to increase its football membership led to conference members looking to other conferences. The Big 12 is presently walking down that same crooked path.

From the NY Post: Maryland to The Big East instead of expanding with Memphis or UCF?

http://nypost.com/2009/08/05/big-east-ma...area-bowl/

"Two sources said the eight-team Big East would consider adding a ninth member by exploring whether there was interest on behalf of Maryland to jump from the ACC, and for Boston College to rejoin the league.

Both seem a little far-fetched on the surface, but Maryland always has played Big East schools, and the balance of power in the ACC is in the south. And Boston College is learning that life in the ACC, where it has no natural rivals, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

The days of considering a Memphis or a Central Florida or an association with Army and Navy are over. The Big East, which went 4-2 in bowl games last season and has won three of its last four BCS games, is thinking of itself as operating from a position of strength."

Also from The NY Post: The Big East could add Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri

http://nypost.com/2011/09/05/big-east-co...-missouri/

According to multiple sources, the most likely scenario — should Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech leave the Big 12 for the Pac-12 — would bring Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri to the Big East.

Eery similarity between the Big East thinking they were going to get Maryland and BC... and the Big XII thinking they are going to get two P5 teams. Will the end result be the same? TBD.

Sounds like the old big east schools fans are scared that the big 12 and big 10 might cherry pick the acc. You acc guys can write wishful hypothetical scenerios all you want.

Clemson and FSU will bolt at the first chance, probably to thr SEC. The big 10 could take a UVa or GaTech anytime they want. Texas is not gonna join the Average Coast Conference.

Lol at you goobers.

Ah, the ol' "Anytime they want" argument...I'm still waiting on my answer, btw. If they could get 'em anytime they wanted, then why haven't they? Why didn't they just get 'em when they got Maryland? Why didn't the SEC see an opening and go after who they could take "whenever they wanted" when they snagged Mizzou? Were they somehow less valuable or desirable then? Or do you think they really didn't want to leave? All this time, and you still don't understand a single damned thing.

The only goober here is you, *******. 07-coffee3
