"Bill Cubit is a Thief" .... ?
That was the headline on a headline on Yahoo for the Champaign Room blog site article:

http://www.thechampaignroom.com/2016/1/2...is-a-thief

I have to defend Cubit a bit here (as some did). He's a low paid HC, and deservingly so with, in reality, just a 1 year deal. So his son Ryan getting a 400% raise being OC isn't a huge thing -- he was QB coach and didn't run the offense last year as the article suggests. But it is a legit question on having him as OC. However, the article does point out that it doesn't matter much, because at the end of the day, Bill is going to be the real OC and his son is going to be the puppet more or less.

The article does make a good point that the Illinois offense was Bad last year. It was. They had a decent (but inconsistent) QB, and I think their RB was injured a good amount of the time. Overall, I don't see what the other options would be. Cubit as HC, like him or not, is going to want to run the offense anyway, so hiring some $400k-worth OC on the outside wouldn't be wasting money at the end of the day anyway.
