But I can understand that it's uncomfortable for some to hear about what happened to black people.

Oh the humanity!

Yes, Let's 'Never Forget' but Let's Also Remember the Black Holocaust

Quote:I run the risk of being labelled an anti-semite, but I'm not. I'll trot out that well-worn defence against every sort of "ism", but it's true - my best friend is a half-Israeli, secular Jew. I admire the culture, the humour, the togetherness - in fact, I wish there could be a "black community" that stood together so firmly, without the tendency for infighting, jealousy and tearing each other down, but we're not as homogenised a group. I am only pointing out that Jews don't have a monopoly on suffering - nor am I saying that they they claim to. I just think it's time black people got their own 'day' to remember those that died, those that slaved away to lay the foundations for the economic strengths that many Western countries enjoy to this very day - sacrificing their lives for rewards they were excluded from.

The italicized part was left out of their posted snippet of the story.

And the author also clarified some things the next day.
Why I Should Have Chosen My Words More Carefully When Talking About the Holocaust

Carry on with the 'outrage'...

Left out? Nah, more like inserted into the story after that person was exposed for the anti-semite they are.

What are you talking about? It was in the original story and when Breitbart pulled quotes from the story, they stopped and didn't include her logic behind her comment. Typical for them.

She (I assume it was a she) writes for HuffPo, which on its face screams "article as written". She didn't anticipate the backlash she received and inserted the italicized text. All of this is my gut feeling, which is 99% correct.
