ESPN FPI predicts that UAB, Tennessee, Fresno St. And Temple will all become eligible so we're likely looking at 79 teams for 76 spots. That means all transitional teams are out and three eligible teams will not go. We have three tie-ins so we will get three but I doubt we get all four in considering how they've handled the Sun Belt in the past.

not gonna sit well with most here, but thats waaaay too many bowl games.

Agree 100%, hardly makes them special anymore when almost 2/3rds of fbs teams can go..

What's not to like about all the bowl games? I like seeing new, different teams getting a chance to experience a bowl game. Coaches like them for the extra practice time. Fans like them for the party. Players like them for the gifts and the rings. Do the New Mexico, Las Vegas, Heart of Dallas, or New Orleans Bowls matter? Only to the teams participating in them, but that's true about every bowl except the two playoff bowls.
