Every conference that meets the FBS criteria should get an auto-bid. Every other sport (including all other levels of football works that way.

So that is 10 champs. NCAA rules require at least as many at-larges as auto-bids. That is 10 more.

20 team playoff, bottom eight play first round to get to 16.

???????????????????????????

Ok.... and where do you see that rule written?

How do they have a rule regulating FBS football playoff numbers when they just started it?

FCS did just fine at 16 teams for a long time.

Yes. That is a NCAA rule for ALL playoffs. Basketball FCS football, every sport.

That is why the the FCS playoffs have been expanded. Every time another auto bid is added another at large is added

Never heard of that.

Me either, I'd like to see some sort of link to that if it is true.
Besides, what about autonomy? We can just vote the rule in without everybody else's approval right?

If not and such rule would stand.
Fine.
8 Auto bids.
5 P5's plus the 3 highest ranked G5 Champions. The rest are at large.
I could live with that.
