Which is why I hope the remaining CUSA 2.0 (UAB, USM, UTEP, Marshall, Rice) get out of CUSA 3.0 ASAP.

What do those 5 have that Tech and MTSU don't?

CUSA took the biggest hit during realignment. I hope that all of the core CUSA schools find a better landing place. Rice prefers to reestablish its long-standing rivalries with UH and SMU. Academically, Rice also prefers to reassociate with other AAU schools, such as Tulane. The new CUSA has neither.

What you prefer and get is totally different because I guess those schools don't feel the same way about Rice...

if they did you would be there.

Maybe if you could put three winning football seasons together and your basketball program wasn't a joke.... actually maybe if Rice could put back to back winning seasons a little more often it might help. Other than the last two years you have to go all the way back to '96-'97 for back to back seasons of winning football.

Starting to see why what you prefer and get is totally different? Hell Rice is one of the major reasons...those schools wanted out.

We have a LONG road ahead. And basketball has definitley killed us and set us back for decades. However, baseball is a top ten program and has won a national championship and football is inching forward. Like I said, it's a long process and the new AD is putting a plan together.

And I don't want to get into a pissing match between WKU and Rice, each school has its list of peer institutions and those it would like to align itself with. There's nothing wrong in saying Rice is on an academic/private school island in the new CUSA. LaTech was on a geographical island in the old WAC.
