And that's a mistake IMO. And I fear it's more on Rice than on UH. But here's hoping we can get that changed.

You take two athletic programs that are both having financial limitations, and give them an opportunity to play all sports, every year, with larger than normal crowds and potential sellouts in all of them, and zero travel costs, and that's somehow NOT a slam dunk to jump on that?

Our AD holds a grudge. Whether he's right or wrong to feel that way, someone else can weigh in.

When we needed to lease your stadium last season, the presented contract was different than what was verbally agreed upon. We agreed to pay a facility fee and let Rice keep concessions and parking. Rice also wanted a percentage of ticket sales - information presented the day of the contract signing. Our AD said that was out of the question. We were the ones marketing the game and playing the game. And so the deal dissolved, and we played at BBVA instead.

It's not a coincidence that our series discontinued after that.
