RE: This years Revenues though 6/30/2007

It would seem so, if we're really looking for exact figures, getting down to the brass tax. I have a feeling that UL is adding in everything they possibly can. Not saying they're 'cooking the books' but are counting everything. Fball attendance has been very good and bball has to account for a goodly share as well. Probably the case with UCONN as well, being right up there with UL amongst BE schools.
Part of it is a need to create a perception, which is still so important in college athletics--programs puffing themselves up for a variety of reasons. Some of which are how the program is viewed nationally, and by other programs, trying to earn respect and attract certain opponents perhaps. Also, from an in-state perspective, UL is only about 6 mil. behind their dreaded rival uk. UL wants stadium expansion and a new bball arena, which will partly be funded by bond sales, I believe. In a state dominated to a great extent by big blue sympathizers, UL needs to demonstrate their ability to generate revenue. The bonds must be approved by the state, so they have to show it is absolutely essential to increase their earning potential.
Of course, uk legislators would want to block anything that benefits UL anyway, just out of spite :muttering:
