Shame on LA Tech. Tech is 3-2, with 2 losses to SEC teams, one on the road 17-16, in front of 71K hostile fans. Everybody knows most of the teams in CUSA would have won both of those games against SEC teams.
Talking about LA Tech because they keep bringing up everybody's scheduling and calling out unknowns. Also made it very clear that I believe you a strong team, but haven't done anything to clearly show you are head and shoulders above anyone else. Had you beaten either of the SEC schools I would certainly be on board. But you didn't and moral victories don't put trophies on the shelf. We're in the same boat with losing to NCState. Miami, Kent, and Cincy are all wins but over bad competition. Fortunately for us the CUSA East is mostly worse than the teams we've played. You don't have the luxury of that fact in the West. But feel free to feel slighted that I didn't bow down to your 1 point loss at an SEC bottom feeder that wasn't even the point of my previous post. Also, UTSA going in and thumping Baylor, despite Baylor being down, is and infinite amount of better than your close play to SC. But you want to toot your horn while stepping on theirs.
LA Tech did beat WKU. On the road. That's the best win by any team in CUSA so far in 2017. And Marshall will get their chance on Nov 11th, when WKU comes to town.
I think UNTs win over USM is up there as best win by a team in conference. Mainly the way they beat us in Hattiesburg. Looking at the posters weekly power rankings, i think most agree.
Well, most would be wrong. WKU is the two-time defending CUSA Champion, not USM. What's USM done? The answer is, lose a bunch of games they should never lose. WKU is still going to kick some major arse in CUSA this fall.

If UTSA played Houston, they would not be undefeated.

That is an opinion. They've beaten Houston before when they weren't "supposed" to.

Actually crushed Houston in their inaugural game in their new stadium when we weren't "supposed" to.
Seriously though, Houston was banged up more on week 1 than they are now. That was a very winnable game in the Alamodome that never happened.

Having watched both teams, I actually think UTSA would be the favorite to UH today. Probably would have won it opening week.

Agreed, but a team isn't good one season because they won the championship the season before, especially when they replace their HC. Just read all the posts by the WKU fans this season on how good they think their team is. WKU's offense ranks 105th.
What has USM done... What has WKU done this season? WKU might turn things on, but there is no standout team in the conference.
Anyway, this really doesn't matter because we'll just keep playing games and the results will be what they will be.
And I wasn't trying to say USM is a good team and anyone that beats us has to be the best win. I think this team is like most USM teams, they have moments when they can play well, but aren't consistent. Blame that on the coaching.

RE: only one undefeated team not in the polls
NCState has now beaten #14 Louisville, as well as FSU. Our loss is looking better and better. Pretty much the same scenario as us, hung with them for a half and then they force stupid mistakes in the 2nd half that sealed it for them. If the 'pack beats Clemson in a few weeks, I'm moving us to the top of the power poll, since apparently good losses count.

I don't even disagree with that. It's a one point win, or two, whatever it was, in a tossup game as I said. But it wasn't the kind of win that defines where your team is at. That's my whole point. No one knows where anyone is at this point. We didn't beat the best teams on our OOC schedules, except for UTSA, since Houston was cancelled. They haven't lost yet so we don't know where their ceiling is. All the rest of us have lost at least one game so we know we have a limit as to how good we can be. I should have said it like that in the beginning. I'm not against LaTech or it's fans. Just thought it was crazy to call UTSA out while sitting their with our seasons capped. Until a team loses a game, it is only on paper (opinion) how good they are.
If WKU doesn't win another game and Cincy or Baylor runs roughshod over the rest of their schedules would you still believe beating WKU in a close game was the best win in the conference?
No worries. You and your Marshall boys are going find out on Nov 11th just how good that WKU win was.
And I already told you in this thread that the way UAB played UNT, you should be worried about them. Let me guess UAB has the best win in CUSA, now? I think perhaps UNT had the best win all along, especially if USM beats UTSA. Bet they wish they could replay SMU.
