only one undefeated team not in the polls - UNT15 - 10-01-2017 01:47 PM

There are 17 undefeated teams, 15 are ranked in both polls and a 16th (Navy) would be 29th based on received votes. however, there is one severely underrated undefeated team that is flying under the radar of both coaches and the AP alike...

UTSA will start getting votes if they win Saturday.

Classic version of "ain't played nobody"

only one undefeated team not in the polls - yupitsjojo - 10-01-2017 02:43 PM

utsa is ranked correctly in my opinion, we have a lot to prove and are gaining a lot of attention too early in the season...

Well they can only play the games they have been given. But they have been living up to expectatuons taking care of business by beating a team they were underdogs to and covering the the spread and much more for the other games.
But on a side note, I wouldn't exactly lump Baylor as a "nobody". Duke, Oklahoma, and Kansas state didn't exactly blow them out. Lately Baylor has been showing that they have been competing but they just can't pull off the win. Kinda feel bad for them.

I agree. I’m not going to start making proclamations until they have some more wins under their belt. Prove it on the field.

Screw that. There are people on that team right now that had no qualms with sexually assaulting women and whatever other stuff they were into. I hope every game is a 1 point heartbreaking loss with some absolute assbeatings thrown in for good measure.

I don't. Give them the death penalty.

Where do you guys get all the love? Classic case of "played somebody and lost." We still don't know where WKU is in the big picture and 2 wins over cupcakes. Beating teams you should, losing to teams you should and a 1 point win on a tossup game. I just don't see LaTech being that strong with the current body of work thus far. Not saying you aren't but no real evidence that you're anything but a solid opponent. With the way NT whipped USM, and the way UAB played NT, plus UTSA doing everything right so far, the west is a mess of possibilities and any team there should be worried. UTEP and maybe Rice are the only teams I'd pencil in as wins in the west division.

Of course they can't make the schedule anew. I'm just saying, don't expect to be ranked.

Baylor lost to Liberty. It's good to get a P5 win, but there aint gonna be any respect.

Why are you talking about LA Tech? We're 3-2, not undefeated.

Yep. Shame on LA Tech. Tech is 3-2, with 2 losses to SEC teams, one on the road 17-16, in front of 71K hostile fans. Everybody knows most of the teams in CUSA would have won both of those games against SEC teams. 07-coffee3

Get used to it. You need to be 7-0 or 12-1 in this league to garner any top 25 attention

Talking about LA Tech because they keep bringing up everybody's scheduling and calling out unknowns. Also made it very clear that I believe you a strong team, but haven't done anything to clearly show you are head and shoulders above anyone else. Had you beaten either of the SEC schools I would certainly be on board. But you didn't and moral victories don't put trophies on the shelf. We're in the same boat with losing to NCState. Miami, Kent, and Cincy are all wins but over bad competition. Fortunately for us the CUSA East is mostly worse than the teams we've played. You don't have the luxury of that fact in the West. But feel free to feel slighted that I didn't bow down to your 1 point loss at an SEC bottom feeder that wasn't even the point of my previous post. Also, UTSA going in and thumping Baylor, despite Baylor being down, is and infinite amount of better than your close play to SC. But you want to toot your horn while stepping on theirs.

I can't speak for HD, but I never brought up Tech at all.

The thread isn't even about Tech. You brought it up. I said their schedule sucks because it does. t's just a fact. UTSA is not getting respect because they've beaten an FCS, a sunbelt doormat, and a distressed and winless Baylor who lost to LIBERTY.

Nobody's fault except the hurricane. No comparisons. They need to beat more teams to earn respect.

LA Tech did beat WKU. On the road. That's the best win by any team in CUSA so far in 2017. And Marshall will get their chance on Nov 11th, when WKU comes to town. 07-coffee3

I think UNTs win over USM is up there as best win by a team in conference. Mainly the way they beat us in Hattiesburg. Looking at the posters weekly power rankings, i think most agree.

I don't even disagree with that. It's a one point win, or two, whatever it was, in a tossup game as I said. But it wasn't the kind of win that defines where your team is at. That's my whole point. No one knows where anyone is at this point. We didn't beat the best teams on our OOC schedules, except for UTSA, since Houston was cancelled. They haven't lost yet so we don't know where their ceiling is. All the rest of us have lost at least one game so we know we have a limit as to how good we can be. I should have said it like that in the beginning. I'm not against LaTech or it's fans. Just thought it was crazy to call UTSA out while sitting their with our seasons capped. Until a team loses a game, it is only on paper (opinion) how good they are.

If WKU doesn't win another game and Cincy or Baylor runs roughshod over the rest of their schedules would you still believe beating WKU in a close game was the best win in the conference?

Well, most would be wrong. WKU is the two-time defending CUSA Champion, not USM. What's USM done? The answer is, lose a bunch of games they should never lose. WKU is still going to kick some major arse in CUSA this fall.
