Believe it or not, there are some people who think cold is fun. http://traveltips.usatoday.com/boise-ida...02418.html

It is near a skiing destination. So it could be said you are incorrect on #1. Again, there are some strange people that love snow and cold, thus killing argument two. I assume you have been to Boise stadium, that one I can't say yah or nah, but I find it hard to be worse then Birmingham Stadium.

For the record, I hate COLD WEATHER and SNOW is a four letter word i dare not utter.

I just spent the last week in Canada, four nights of that in the Yukon. The cold can be fun and people can ski while at the Famous Tater Bowl.

A nice try, to be sure.

But let's be real: no one is planning an impromptu ski trip, to Boise Idaho no less, for just a weekend, and with the whole Saturday being taken up by a football game. Like I said, nice try guys. You're obviously fighting tooth and nail to justify it, so I commend you for that.

You are the one that is fighting a losing battle. You are wrong. Everyone knows you are wrong but you.

Far more to do in the Boise area in winter than say, Birmingham or Shreveport.

Or Detroit, Dallas, etc.

One of the world's top Ski resorts is two hours from Boise. Other SKI areas much closer.

In Boise?? No, there isn't. And the other two you mention at least have decent weather, though not great. But certainly better than Boise.

Absurdly false, in this case, as far as "stuff to do". But regardless, these two have indoor stadiums.

And this was already defeated, plus two hours away.

Again, no one is finding out that their team is going to Boise on a Sunday, and then planning an impromptu skiing trip to bumf__, Idaho for two weeks later, with one of the days being taken up by a football game.

So far, everyone who has tried to come up against me on this has been defeated.

Boise has great weather. Just because you don't think it is, doesn't mean it isn't.

Planning a trip to Boise is no different than planning a trip anywhere else.

Birmingham's stadium is a dump. City is a dump.

And yes, Sun Valley is a premier ski area.

RE: Poinsettia Bowl goes bust
The coldest Famous Tater Bowl was warmer than the coldest Cotton Bowl (now home of the Heart of Dallas Blight Bowl)

I was at the 2010 Independence Bowl and thought I was going to die it. The temp wasn't crazy cold (30's) but it was humid (for December) and windy. One of the worst days I've ever had outside, I was warmer in the Yukon when the temp was 20 degrees colder and was wearing basically the same gear.

That was much more pleasant than the 1982 I-Bowl. Wind gusts of 23 mph temp of 36. Or the 2000 game when the temperature at kickoff was 30 at kickoff and began falling and snowed the entire game.

I lived in Shreveport for a time and there are couple good restaurants, an outlet mall and casinos. I liked it but don't go touting it for great weather or as a destination.

SLC would be a much better location for a bowl game than Boise. Between SLC and Park City, there are great entertainment options. There are like nine world-class ski resorts within 30-60 minutes from downtown. SLC is also easier and cheaper to get to and has a stadium that was used for the Olympics...without turf that geese mistake for water.

FWIW, ski is a plus for some bowls. Some Sun Bowl visitors make the occasional day trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico which is about 2 hours.

I wouldn't be surprised if some Rose, Fiesta, Emerald, Las Vegas, New Mexico bowl visitors go to Big Bear, Flagstaff, Lake Tahoe, Taos, etc. Boise is not the exception.

Do you still need a "sponsor" to drink in Utah? I remember many places even having 2 drink max rules. Please tell me that Utah has changed those archaic drinking laws? Do beers still have less alcohol in them in Utah? Also, does BYU allow liquor in the stadium for tailgating finally?--that last one was a joke.

Cheers!
