RE: UC 110 in RPI
The way I see it, the worst UC can do and still have a good chance at making the NCAA Tournament is to close out the season 6-3. I know some of you hate the RPI, but it's not going away. A finish 5-4 or below would lead to a RPI well above 80. Even finishing the season 6-3 would project an RPI in the 70's.

First things first, they need to come out strong against Depaul.

With this fanbase, probably not good.

I recall Dayton fans outnumbered UC fans last NIT game

Not sure if they outnumbered us, but there were a lot of them.

RE: UC 110 in RPI
After the dust has settled from the Rutgers loss I'm starting to think that 11-7 just might be enough. With 6 more wins this team is likely going to end up with at least 4 Top 50 wins and 9-10 Top 100 wins. That's a whole lot of Top 100 wins, including 3 on the road with a chance for 3 more. The first four teams left out last year combined for only 5 Top 100 wins on the road. If we get to 11-7 and win a game in the BET you might have to combine the resumes of two bubble teams to get more Top 50 and Top 100 wins.

After ND's road win tonight UC now has 3 Top 50 wins and 6 Top 100 wins... the exact same numbers as projected high seed, Florida.

The funny thing about it is, I only feel like there a couple games where we really got beat. Throw out X and Syracuse, and I think the rest of the games we lost we beat ourselves.

Even if we could have just won the presby and marshall games we would be sitting pretty right now.

I would add St. John's to that. That would put us at 20-4 (8-3) right now and probably somewhere in the 6 seed range.

Oh well, after Marquette on Saturday we will likely be favored in each of our remaining games. Probability analysis suggests we will still lose a couple, but hopefully we can get hot and go on a run.

It may be better, but still makes me shake m head.

Teams ranked ahead of UC: S. Miss, Middle Tenn, Belmont, LaSalle. I'm just saying.

I also think it interesting that according to that BPI, our SOS is only 4 spots behind UK's.

RE: UC in RPI Rankings
I think we found the outlier:

UC
KenPom-41
Sagarin-44
BPI-54
RPI-96

Colorado St.
KenPom-103
Sagarin-93
BPI-82
RPI-21

The RPI is a joke! The Gameday crew did a great job today of highlighting other rating systems that are much more realistic. Jay Bilas should head the selection committee.

Yeah, I just don't see how UC can beat UConn, Pitt, Gtown on the road, and Notre Dame here, and have an rpi at nearly 100. Makes little sense.

If UC wins 10 or 11 games in the Big East and their rpi is near 100 still, I hope the committee looks at other rating systems.

Exactly. Same could be said for Southern Miss and Seton Hall.

At least one good thing happened today. Georgia won in OT at Mississippi St. and moved way up in the RPI to give us our 7th Top 100 win.
