Marco looks pretty good out of the gate, but we're not even approaching the first turn yet. There's a long way to go.

Yea, but that's a pretty good smackdown to the leftist rag.
What he's done is exactly the same as millions of others of his age and younger.

Difference is- he's actually paid, or is paying it back! 04-rock

Yes...Well played Mr. Rubio. I really like the comment about you having to keep an eye on your budget like millions of Americans. Comedy Gold Mr. Rubio....Comedy Gold.

No explaination for why he paid $80k for a $15k boat and where the rest of the $65k went? 07-coffee3

Traffic tickets were lame. Financial problems are concerning.

Not just in the NYT article. It also recently came out that he cashed out his IRA to pay for a new refrigerator and private school tuition. He also got in trouble in the state legislature for using government money for personal expenses. He is a financial mess. If that doesn't bother you, it is certainly your right to dismiss it. It concerns me.

he already paid back the money to the state.

Tons of people draw from their IRA to take care of things. Not the best thing to do, but it is still his money.

You are losing credibility about finances when you are saying he spent $80,000 on a $15,000 boat.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes: NYT Piece On Rubio Was A ‘Snobbily Judgmental Nothingburger’

When huge libs like Hayes and John Stewart blow back at them, the NYTimes might actually get the message......No they won't, what am I thinking.

Quote:In a surprising move, liberal MSNBC host Chris Hayes defended Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio from The New York Times article attacking his personal finances on Wednesday, calling the story a “snobbily judgmental nothingburger.”

“I’m in the — I was basically found myself in strange company in the wake of this piece,” Hayes said. “Because I was basically in the — this is a nothingburger and not just a nothingburger, a weirdly kind of snobbily judgmental nothingburger in tone.”

Ironically, Hayes managed to find possibly the only conservative guest who thought the Times’ attack on Rubio was legitimate: Miami Herald columnist A.J. Delgado.

“We’re in the twilight zone when you’re defending Rubio and I’m criticizing him,” Delgado said. “But yeah, I do think it’s something legitimate. If somebody is running for the Republican Party nomination — which theoretically one of the tenets is fiscal responsibility of my party, right? — we do have the right to ask questions.”

But Hayes offered something of a liberal defense of Rubio, disputing the common Republican meme that balancing the budget was like balancing a household budget. “You heard it all the time, particularly in 2010, 2012: we have got to tighten our belt, like a family budget in hard times.”

“Folks like myself say, no, they had nothing to do with each other,” he said. “You can’t print money in your household budget. Ergo, whether he wants to buy a boat or not doesn’t strike me as relevant about where he’s going to be on defense spending or sequester.”
