Ok FSU has fallen off their optimum level of play but comparing them to fricken Northwestern is a joke. Syracuse is grouped with Northwestern. FSU is not. Anyone with 2 eyeballs can see that. At best Northwestern is a bottom 4 team in the Big 10. They are still nothing special. Syracuse will be in the same grouping in the ACC.

We don't suck but we are not good either. Right now we are middle of the road. Considering how far things fell off under Robinson we are lucky to be where we are. We are trending upwards but it is going to be a long haul.

What is your reason for posting? Your unhappiness with the ACC its two new additions is noted, so why do you have to keep bringing down every thread? We get it - don't worry...but you're constant complaining isn't doing this board any good.

I follow the ACC scoreboard now and root for every team...including FSU. If I had something negative to say, I am content with keeping it to myself. Can't you just do the same? The situation is what it is so why not just make the best of it? Try supporting the conference teams because a strong conference is good for all of us!

I did not see the game. I read the newspaper articles and the box score.
I think it is encouraging that the passing attack is executing well. The other errors can be fixed, as it is the first game of the season.
Unfortunately, USC #1 team in the nation is next. I hope they can fix it for next Saturday.

Bad call, saw that same thing many times over the weekend with No Call. I was pulling for 'Cuse to win.

I saw the game. Syracuse should have won, but have themselves to blame in a very freakish game. The Orange defense actually held Northwestern in the first half, and the offense drove for 2 first quarter FGs. Then weird plays broke things open:

Q1 - NW 82 yd punt return for TD
Q1 - SU answers with TD drive
Q2 - SU stops NW on 4th & 2 near midfield
Q2 - SU INT returned 49 yards, setting up NW TD pass on the next play.
Q2 - SU punts 53 yards, NW returns it 52 yards; NW TD 4 plays later
Q2 - SU fumbles, but NW fumbles right back on the next play
(2 possessions w/o much action)
Halftime
Q3 - SU lateral dropped by RB who just stands around while NW scoops & scores 33-yard fumble return TD
Q3 - SU drives, attempts FG, misses
Q3 - NW drives for TD
Q3 - SU drives for TD
Q4 - NW punt pins SU deep, SU comes out, scores TD
Q4 - SU forces NW punt, then scores another TD - SU takes a 6-point lead

Contrary to popular belief it is not a requirement for everyone to be like some of you that are always in here shaking your pom poms and making the human pyramid while chanting "ACC ACC!" I find it amazing that so many posters here aren't so much in favor of a discussion board, but an ACC homer circle jerk.

If you don't like anything that a poster says then the responsibility is yours to remove the problem. Go to his profile page and select "Add to ignore list" If you are too lazy to do that then I suggest you hike up your cheerleader skirt and put on a set of big girl panties because there is nothing in the User AUP of this site that requires someone to beer a cheerleader.

We try to have discussions here but they are continuously hijacked by a couple of people who expected an invite to a conference which never materialized. My daughters behave better than that and they are supposed to be drama queens, they are teenage girls! Besides, you should want your conference mates to win all OOC games to boost the overall SOS so when your team beats them, your team;s SOS goes up that much more!

If you want to start a new thread about how bad the ACC is or how bad a particular team is, that would be fair game. No need to hijack a perfectly good thread.

That was the game in a nutshell. Syracuse shot themselves in the foot and then did it again, and again, and again,...

You seem a little offended that someone points out that you are a Big 12 cheerleader. You may need the big girl panties but it appears you are still in diapers.

I'm not offended that you post what you want nor does anyone demand that have anyone's approval. I was merely pointing out that your hypocrisy and over sensitivity. Perhaps someone has switched out your steroids with estrogen supplements.

Discussing a game and why a team won/lost does not usually qualify as being a cheerleader or a homer. Take a look, we even discussed the Clemson/Auburn game (congrats, again, even more so because I never liked Auburn).

I was just suggesting that you should start a thread instead of hijacking a thread. Syracuse made lots of mistakes, should have won, but managed to snap defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Honestly, that's not a late hit at first glance. But truthfully, it depends on how long or how the defender drove him out of bounds. So on first glance it looks like you were screwed. I didn't watch the game or see the play. But if he initiated contact inbounds and carried it well out of bounds, it's a penalty.

Back to our regularly scheduled thread, Syracuse had opportunities and blew it. They should not have been in a position where a late game penalty (fairly called or not) would make a difference in the final outcome. Syracuse manhandled the Wildcats offensively. No excuses for the loss. Had Northwestern given up a little they would have lost. They fought tough, took advantage of mistakes and earned the win.
