Yeah, I was worried in that first half. Didn't have much hope but Sexton just took over. I love it! It seems when they face adversity, the team pulls through. Should be an easy game? They just dawdle along.

Now, here's to hoping we can beat Kentucky this time around. Should have had them last time.
As a very tepid follower of Alabama basketball I am almost sold...almost.
Ah, of course we lost. It was a good run overall, so I'm not THAT disappointed. Still doubt it is enough to warrant a spot in the tourney.

Here's to hoping.
Congratulations Kentucky! SEC Tournament Champs! Tennessee has nothing to hang their heads about. They took the Cats two out of three and played them straight up today.

And now we sit and wait. Mizzou has a jailbird to deal with. What timing, as usual.
Joe Lunardi has Auburn and Missouri in the west regional. Auburn, the 3 seed opening against Georgia State in Dallas. Missouri, as an 8 seed is projected to play K State in Detroit. Good luck Jr!04-cheers
Good work SEC. 8 teams in, no first four games.

Well we went West to San Diego will play Charleston in the opening round. We are a 4 seed. Missouri will be playing Florida State in Nashville. I guess you can't lose there Medic! One of your schools will win. I just hope it's Mizzou.

I can't say that I'm thrilled because I'm not. You win the SEC's regular season and your reward is the West Coast. Still I do believe Tennessee deserved their #3 Seed.

What I don't get is how a 10 loss school is the top #2 seed? And why an Oklahoma State team that beat WVU on the road, Kansas twice, and Oklahoma twice is sitting at home while the Sooners get to play having lost 10 times and twice to OSU!

So even with the SEC getting 8 in, I still think this year's selection process is hypocritical and total FUBAR from the seeding to the selections.

OU is a 10 seed at 18-13. What a travesty. Looks like a ratings selection. I never followed FSU BB. I had a lot of FSU friends down here and went to the games on Saturday. That is how I became a Seminole fan. Mizzou has always been my guys though, through birth and blood. lol I think this is a very nice time for Auburn fans (Jr) to take a nice trip out to San Diego.04-cheers
I haven't looked at the full bracket in detail yet, but I did notice this...

There are East Region games in San Diego and West Region games in Nashville.

Who came up with this system?

Why are we worried about geography when we're not really worried about geography?
I remember a 32 team field. All the expansions of the tourney and they still managed to make a complete mess out of it. OSU was cheated and their omission is unacceptable. Any time "experts" get to decide outcomes like this, it makes a mess out of the system. I hate the CFB FBS selection system too. The only system I know of that let's "experts" decide who makes the playoffs. Sometimes they get it right, but sometimes not so much. TV ratings has a lot to do with this, I am sure. It had to be the case with choosing OU.

Medic, the get it right every year. It's just that they get it right for the networks. Oklahoma draws more from the DFW demographic than OSU does. Auburn doesn't have the basketball following of Tennessee so the Volunteers play close to home while my Tigers get San Diego. North Carolina loses 10 games and is a #2 seed in Charlotte. Arizona may be the best team in the field but they get relegated to a #4 seed and then matched up with Virginia if they both win out. So yeah, Virginia got the overall #1 seed and should have the easiest path to the finals because of it but instead they will be playing the strongest bracket and might have to face Arizona (who should have been at least a 2 seed if not a 1 seed) in the regionals.

Purdue (the Big 10's best bet) is put in the softest bracket to keep the around and to keep the huge Big 10 fan base watching deep into the tournament.

I'll be glad when college sports fans see this crap for what it is, a money making opportunity for the networks.

We get the same thing in the CFP. Baylor and T.C.U. were never going to get that slot a few years ago. Why? Lack of interest in those schools by the viewing public.

Look at the College Baseball regionals. At least there they let a #2 seed host if the #1 seed is a small school with limited seating. And at least there they say gee Miss State will host although Louisiana Lafayette is ranked higher. There the issue isn't viewers but rather ticket sales. But the issue is the same, money. One field seats 12,000 and the other barely 3,000.

We labor under the notion that all of this is about fairness and competition. It is not. But we live with the denial over all of it because to face the truth that our whole society is geared to the pursuit of the buck and isn't fair at all is overwhelming.

Spot on Jr. You nailed it. I hope the SEC makes the committee look ignorant. Good luck on the Left Coast.04-rock

I'm still stunned. As excited as I am for it, not sure they were deserving at the end.

I guess we will find out on Thursday.
The post season got started tonight on a positive note for the SEC. L.S.U. defeated Louisiana and Mississippi State defeated Nebraska in the opening round of the NIT.
It looks like the Tiger's and Cajun's coaches had a bit of a dustup.

S.O.P. for La Lafayette.
3/15/18 NCAA

Tennessee 73 Wright State 47 A good start to the tournament for the Volunteers.

Kentucky 78 Davidson 73 Kentucky plays sloppy but still manages to win.

Alabama 86 Virginia Tech 83 A nice win after a slow start and early foul trouble.

Florida 77 St. Bonaventure 62 Florida opened up a 20 point lead and cruised to the end.

3/16/18 NCAA

Texas A&M 73 Providence 69 The Aggies fooled around in the first 10 minutes and then their size wore them down.

Butler 79 Arkansas 62 The Hogs left their brains and their game in the pre game locker room.

Auburn 62 College of Charleston 58 Auburn wins the most butt ugly NCAA Tournament Game that I can ever remember watching.

Florida State 67 Missouri 54 Mizzou loses before game starts when they have to suspend a starter for off court behavior.
Hail State! They just took Louisville down on their home court by more than 20 to advance the NIT final four where they will pair up with Penn State.
