Let's just get this started.
Does anyone else feel like we never beat Maine? It just always seems like they have our number.

ETA: Looked it up and we're 1-3 against them since I entered college. So it's more just that we rarely play them I guess.
I’m curious who starts at QB

Got to be Shon. Shouldn't have pulled him...needs the reps now that the redshirt is gone. But...that is my opinion. I'm really afraid Tommy is hurt. The way he came off the field after making the tackle on his last interception made me think his shoulder may be banged up some. He ran off just like Laster has with his shoulder. Was a heckuva a hit though. Nice tackle. That kid is so hardnosed.

Totally missed that injury on Saturday but it makes a lot of sense. I also hope Shon starts up in Orono.
Tommy was in a shoulder sling after making that tackle..
Game will be televised. Check your local listings. 03-wink

I hope so, can’t get there.
Big Isiah got hurt, too...left game in third quarter and didn't return. Let's hope he's ready for Maine...he has been a force at nose guard.
Last week took its toll, there are more, but I’ll wait for the team to announce. Hopefully Caskin gets back.
Well, if we can score a TD in the 1st Half, I like our chances.

No telling how a game will flow with our defense - and just a smidgen of help on the offensive side.

Maine likes to run. That's one thing we stop pretty well.
On paper it looks like a fairly even matchup. Their pass defense is solid (4th in CAA) but they are giving up 146 YPG rushing. Would love to see our backs get plenty of touches. They have given up the most 1st downs in the league which bodes well for us being able to get into a rhythm and have the chance to call more than 3 plays per drive. Sitting Bull was right about them liking to run. Josh Mack is second in the league at 125 YPG

His style of play translates to leadership which is paramount at that position. Tommy that is. I followed Mitchell's repeated exit off the field when he was in there. Crossing the bench, he was alone. The only two players who came up to support him were Dedman and Funderbrook. Those two are leaders. Number 70 made a touchdown saving open field tackle and was ignored by his teammates all the way to the O line bench. Many of these guys seem to be toasted.

Not sure what toasted means. It is most likely that Funderburke was not on the field during the last play of the series before punting and Dedmon of course is on the sidelines this season. So it makes sense that they showed leadership and approached him as he came off the field. Every other player on offense was also exiting the field headed to their position bench where I am sure that when there offered support for Shon.

The special teams were headed on to the field and the defense was huddled where they thought the punt team would cover far away from the offensive benches where Shon would be headed. With regards to #70 who made a nice tackle after a turnover and #22 ran a guy down for 65 yards to save a pick six, when that happens there are players are all shuffling and coaches are trying to react. Not ignoring the effort of their teammate, but getting ready to play.

I don't see toast (whatever that means) out there, I see guys playing to win. I haven't seen one player quit on their teammates. If anything I see the offense frustrated knowing the stress they are putting on the defense and to their credit I see the defensive guys not getting caught up in the offensive struggle and just taking care of business. Try not to read into something that's not there.

You seem to be looking for ghosts quite often. I watched Shon be approached by multiple players from both the offense and defense. And then, I saw Shon after being taken out, display top level teammate behavior in his support for Battle and McKee when they were inserted into the game.

I like your response better!
Based on the Game Notes, which are about as reliable as BigTribe's spelling of athlete names, Shon gets the start again.
I listened to Laycock's portion of the CAA coaches call this morning.

He was asked who would start and he literally said "What do you mean?", the reporter said "At Quarterback", his response "I don't know yet".

Well, he does get asked that every single week.
I saw Shon trying to encourage a disgruntled and unwilling to listen McKee after one of his picks. He was persistent until McKee calmed down and listened.
