Troll....says the guy who has posted 15 times since March of 2015. And only takes and opportunity to gripe and report people.

Oops, 16, sorry

No, Sir. I'm not surrendering anything. I'm simply proposing that which is the smart thing--the only thing--to do operationally-speaking under these present circumstances.

Unless, that is, you don't care about winning.

But please do go on. I enjoy watching you defend the indefensible. As I've always said, there's a special place in hell for apologists.
Not a rhetorical question: what does a "John Doe" coached team look like this season? How is it a marked improvement from Jimmye? Its easy to point out the shortcomings of our offense (which are numerous and obvious) but I have yet to hear someone explain how a different HC would help us.

Very good question. I don't see at this time how a different head coach would have much of an impact. I know everyone hates to hear about youth and injuries (myself included) but this year just seems like a perfect storm of them. It has really limited our abilities on the offensive side of the ball and likely our play-calling as well. Our defense - which last time I checked also falls under the purview of the head coach - has performed very well though.
It's very simple to me. We had the spring game with no proven QB, entered the first game with no proven QB, and now are rotating them in and out. QB play has not been very good and I'm not surprised. It takes time in practice and games to get used to the speed of the game and get in rhythm with receivers. Our best RB was still recovering from knee surgery, our best receiver broke his wrist, our only other deep threat can't stay healthy, our second best receiver (Caskin) has been hurt. You can't put the injuries on JL, Mangas, or anyone. That's just bad luck.

Our opponents aren't stupid. They are taking away the run and we can't make enough consistent passes to keep drives going. I'm hoping that through the rest of the season our QBs get valuable reps and we can sort it out in the off season heading into the Spring game and next season. Maybe we start to gel in the next few games.
haha for TribeNeverSurrenders you sound like you are waving the white flag and looking to point fingers and surrender on our boys. You also sound like you have zero actual football knowledge. Big words don't make an argument valid.
W&M is averaging 14.38 points/game. Since 1999 the fewest points W&M has averaged in a season was 18.36. To top that number W&M would have to average 29 points their last 3 games, which seems unlikely since they've scored 20 points total their last 3 games. I'm just a dumb message board poster but that seems bad. I'll wait for a smart message board scold to confirm.

Other teams have figured out how to make it work with young, inexperienced QBs. Nothing this offense does makes sense.
I see a lot of untucked jerseys on Georgia. They must be a bad team.
You can make the argument that Laycock should stay. But to treat that question as if it's not even a reasonable discussion is pretty unbelievable. Frankly if everyone is going to be content with this, I'm not even sure why it's worth having a football program. Would love to see what Tony Shaver could do with those resources.

Hello. Nice to see your posse is out after me today. Must make you feel so important & powerful. I believe you've actually bragged about having so many friends on this board before. You actually know them and hang out in real life? That is weird. Sorry. Kind of sad that that's what makes your boat float.

In any event, I seem to remember you doing just that… attacking another poster… just recently. Pot!! But I guess you're exempt from the rules, huh? How nice.

The reason why I have 16 posts (which is in no way even tangentially related to the definition of a troll...but I will let your minion slide on that one) is because I actually have a life. And on many a Saturday, I'm actually busy...attending the games! Unlike most of you.

Additionally, I don't feel the need to comment about nothing, constantly, like some people here, forever making excuses for our failures whilst refusing to criticize those who deserve to be criticized. Worse yet, you gang attack those who have the temerity to point out the obvious flaws in the team and in the coaching staff. The thought police is alive and well here. You must adhere to the groupthink lest you be called a hater, a poser, a troll, ...insensitive to the "boys," not a true fan, too harsh, too mean, too judgmental, etc.

So, what's the point of this place anyway? Honestly, you can ban me anytime you want to. It's not going to bother me one bit, and it's not going to change my opinions. It's also not gonna keep me from attending the games and rooting for the Tribe. I take a backseat to no one here re: loyalty and absolute fandom. But there's really no point to being here if everyone thinks the same, and those who don't are castigated, excoriated and threatened. Safety in numbers, I guess. I get it. It's like the kid's playground. Enjoy!

Exactly. Thank you. I knew there had to be someone around here with common sense, honesty and integrity. An independent thinker! I'll take 1 of you working for me & with me over a thousand mind-numbed automatons.

Yeah like it or not it's an opinion shared by MANY fans. Good, knowledgeable fans who I think would be an asset to this online community.

I was hoping to have a reasonable discussion about this but I guess not...
Not sure I have ever seen this lack of offense from any team in the CAA over the years....no real progress....wheels have no traction....tough to endure...feel for the players.

Glad basketball season is upon us.

Are they a contrasting color worn like a mini skirt? That's the style in vogue with Tribe footballers!! Classy.

I certainly think it is reasonable to have the discussion. The problem is people on this board at times can't have a reasonable discussion. Those are different things. I'm on the side that wants him to stay as long as he wants for all he has done and brought to this program. But I certainly respect contrary points others bring up. Where I have an issue is when certain posters throw it in your face in a snarky way.... especially just a few minutes after a loss.

Fair point. And in further fairness it appears to just be one poster, not plural...

So now let's have that discussion civilly.
