My father, Ronnie Burrage who most of you knew as The Gray Avenger, passed away at Baptist East hospital this morning. He was scheduled for bypass surgery at 3 pm today but his heart suddenly stopped and they weren't able to revive him.

He loved the University of Memphis more than anything except his family. We lost a great voice, advocate and fan today. Please remember and honor him in that way. Rest in peace dad.

You have my condolences and my prayers for your family. I enjoyed his advocacy for Tiger athletics.
Prayers for the family! He was a great fan and will be missed.
Oh no
Prayers sent! Horrible news.
There is NO DOUBT that he was a Great Tiger Fan and a fine person.
It would be great for MT.Org to show up in force at his funeral.
So sorry for you and your family's loss. He was an advocate for the Tigers, a keeper of all things Tiger logo and color related and a great fan. He laser focus will be missed on these boards.

If ever there was a true believer in Tiger athletics in this forum, it was the GrayAvenger. Hate to hear this news.

So sorry to hear this. Your dad was a very good man. May God rest his soul.
That really does suck, he was one of my favorite. Loved his passion and honesty and love for the Tigers. My condolences to you and your family!
I am truly saddened. When I first came to this board, his posts were some of the first that caught my attention as a true lover of our university.
As someone once posted, when you read a Gray Avenger post, you can't help but read it with Sean Connery's voice in your head.

We have lost a board icon, and he will be greatly, greatly missed.
One of my favorite posters. I can't believe it.
It really bothers me that we have so many life long fans that have never seen their tigers win a national championship. Next time you look around the LB, you will see a lot of gray among the diehards.

RIP my tiger brother.
Sorry for your loss. Your father was definitely a true Tiger fan.
My condolences go out to the family. He will definitely be missed here.
I am so sorry to hear this . He was one of my favorite ,I will miss him. May God be with you and your family.
He was my favorite poster. A true Tiger fan. Sorry for your loss, BlueHomer, I know you will miss him. This board will miss him!
We share in your loss. Not too long ago he and I had some private discussions regarding the both of us having roots in Booneville MS. Tiger family has lost one of its best. Godspeed, GA.
