If you enter the NFL Draft, can you take your name out if you don't sign with an agent?

I forgot how it works for football and basketball.
I think you have to make an official announcement and once you do its a done deal. I suppose that's because of the evaluation submission - once you get it you have to make a decision, yea or nay. I don't know what qualifies as an "official" announcement, though...

Confirmed UAB RB Darrin Reaves turning pro early...@Engaged2Success ...scouts see best football ahead of him..
Wow.

Not to take anything away from Reaves, but I think this says more about our program than it does his pro stock.
Who can blame him??!!

Good luck DR!

Not necessarily, RB's have a very short career anyway. Reaves is probably more appealing to the nfl as a junior than he would be with more carries and more hits as a senior. He probably would not increase his draft stock that much his senior year (may get up to a 3rd round projection)

I think it's more that his playing time will continue to decrease the longer he's at UAB.

nobody on defense entering the draft :)
Wow.

I hope I get to see the D-Train run on Sundays.
Predicted to go 4th to 7th round. Can't blame him, not a lot of good rbs coming out this year.
Best of luck to him.
I'll be interested to see how Howard and Duckworth do this season. I'll predict now that Howard, barring injury, becomes another 1,000 yard rusher for UAB.

I agree. To me, Howard looked like the better RB last year.

Reeves was solid for us, but I'm not so sure he should have jumped with a 4th to 7th projection. It's really easy to slide to UDFA from that area. I wish him the best, but he probably should have stayed and taken classes for one more year. I understand the lifespan of a RB is short, but the odds of making it in the NFL are also very long. I wish him the best of luck though!
Shoot, im happy for Darrin. If someone wouldn't have told him that there is a chance he get drafted, he wouldn't have made this decision. The 3 back we will have, may have just as much if not more potential. Also, I wouldn't risk injury to myself b4 the pros for what we have coming back next year.
So, Howard, Coles, Duckworth, Kirk, maybe Gardner.

You sort of contradict yourself there.

It's pretty clear Howard is the guy now, so why wouldn't he jump now and take his chances? Now or never if he loses even more carries next year.
Jordan Howard is the man now. Reaves would probably see his carries decline next year because Howard is such a man child, and Reaves also has a kid. He was good for us while he was here, but I bet he's thinking about supporting his child. I hope he gets drafted, but he'll definitely get invites to camp if not. I wish him the best.
He's been projected as an NFL caliber player by NFL scouts since last year. Whenever you hear someone say you're an SEC-caliber back as has been said about Darrin numerous times, especially when we played SEC teams, it bodes well for experts' opinions of you. We've had scouts at multiple UAB games looking specifically at Darrin. Go luck Darrin.
