It’s official. Braylon Mullins is coming back to UConn next year. With a year of transition from high school to college to adjust to the college game and to learn Hurley’s system, I think he’ll be a star this year. He was good as a freshman, but not everyone can step right in as a freshman and have a complete game. Jordan Hawkins spent a 2nd year at UConn before going to the NBA and I think that Mullins is doing the smart thing by doing the same. Of course a big bump in NIL money doesn’t hurt.

I wonder if he didn't get any interest in the portal or if Willard told him he would have a role next year. I don't think he played this year if I'm not mistaken.

Marquette lost Sheek Pearson last night. Unexpected and creates a huge hole for our backup post minutes.

Perhaps it signals Marquette will be getting a quality big from the portal?

I didn't even realize McCaffrey had been picked up by Richmond. Every Butler player who portaled has found a home, with most going to the A-10. I think Bizjack will do well at West Virginia, and hopefully Pepperdine is a good fit for Haywood.

Sheek Pearson of Marquette officially now to St. Louis University. SLU near his home town of St. Charles. Sheek, a redshirt as a frosh this past season, went in the portal at the last moment and the $LU name came up immediately as the likely landing spot. Wa$ it a ca$e of tampering a$ rumored? $lU has a large budget .

Thanks for sharing that. Perhaps it was tampering, I like your use of dollar signs in this post lol. Do you think they waited so long to make this official to try and hide the fact this was tampering? It has been a couple weeks at this point.

Marquette joins Butler as teams who have had all of their portal entries find homes. Some other teams (like Providence) would basically be there as well if I were to remove the seniors who want a 5th year of eligibility.

As far as the "?'s" I think there are a litany of reasons:

Many of the players listed are seniors who have exhausted their eligibility, or walk ons who are looking for their first scholly.

I was mainly updating this list with the list for each team On3 has, or if I happened to see a tweet posted on the Boneyard. It seems On3 has been slacking so I've been googling the names of players to try and see if any have found a home that way. But I'll be the first to admit I haven't spent a ton of time doing so.

As you noted, many of these guys are unlikely to find a home (some of which relates to the first point I noted above.)

Agents are having some guys wait, perhaps they didn't get the type of offer they were looking for right away and they think as portal season goes on some teams will get desperate and overpay. A risky move considering many teams' NIL is drying up at this point.

Probably some other small reasons but those seem to be the main ones in my eyes.

Two guys I'm kind of surprised are still out there are Anthony Robinson (Xavier) and Fedor Zugic from Creighton. Robinson originally committed to Virginia and seems to be a solid backup at worst. I know Zugic had a down year but he came in as a highly touted shooter and has good size for a wing.

Most of the other uncommitted names are walk ons or Seniors hoping for more eligibility that they likely won't be granted. I would expect a guy like Pierce to find a home somewhere even if it's a low major. Think most of the other names will end up D2 since they are walk ons.

Sucks when guys have the talent and size just not the basketball IQ to really perform at this level. Hopefully he gets a lot of playing time by stepping down a level and figures some things out

Not sure how I missed Mike Williams entering the portal. Added and updated as he will be transferring to Tulsa

With the recent announcement that current seniors will not be eligible even if the "5 in 5" rule passes, I've decided to make these players that entered the portal as "No Eligibility" rather than just delete their names. I've begun editing the OP but know there are names I have missed, just doing some names off the top of my head while on break at work.

With Peteris Pinnis committing to Oregon State, that leaves only Daquan Davis looking for a home out of the Providence entries. I'm a little surprised he hasn't found a home yet as a former 4 star who was basically top 100 in the 247 composite (and 93rd overall in their own ranking.)

I know he barely played last year but he did play like 25 mpg for FSU as a freshman. He wasn't efficient but he did average almost 9ppg against ACC competition so I figured lots of mid and low majors would be giving him a look
