We are both different teams now, but NAU has a decent defense. NAU only allows 18.5 points per game. SFA studied us well and shut our offense down. NAU could do the same. We didn't think that was possible, but it most certainly is. We have to get into a rhythm. If our run game isn't working well, we can't waste time continually throwing the ball downfield. We have to step up shorter/faster higher percentage throws, with adequate blocking. Our defense has to stay aggressive. NAU is fairly balanced between the run and pass both. Here's hoping to being healthy and ready.

Not sure how that flop in Nacogdoches affected the bracket. But, the winner of this game gets N Dakota State.

I don't think either one of us gets by NDSU... Sure would love our shot though.

RE: 2024 FCS Bracketology
I think these guys are pretty spot on. DO their final two pan out? Who knows, but I think the top 4 and the top 8 this year are going to be tough to break. I think what they say about ACU is correct unless something freaky happens, which is why I think that little bit of seeding help was so badly needed. Tarleton fights hard but I think they run into the same thing we are up against in round two. We all hope for the AGS effect, but this year is going to be extremely tough.

One advantage for both ACU and Tarleton, if both win in week one, next game will be in a dome. Both very tough places to play but weather won’t be a factor.

Agree, was NOT wanting to play in Montana... Can EKU be little bit of a dark horse? I think they have a chance to get past Villanova. If so, their matchup against UIW would be really interesting.

RE: 2024 FCS Bracketology
I am just glad to be in the fight. Imagine, ACU in its first D1 playoff and more remarkable is Tarleton being a winner in each year of its move up to D1. And then, the UAC getting three teams in the playoffs is pretty remarkable as well. The UAC must be viewed as a strong FCS conference. Southern Utah was no slouch as well. Of course, I would like to see first round wins to get to the next level but awaiting us there would be North Dakota State. Becton has predicted NAU will win our game in Abilene. Almost reminds me of a recent basketball experience where we beat UT and then ran into UCLA. I wonder if there is a rating of NIL money for FCS?

You should see half the stuff I type before correcting with my dyslexic fingers before correcting.

At least we have home field advantage. We play better at home. Also, I know last week left a bad taste in many player's mouths. I suspect they will be ready for a fight.

Bad taste...yep. But Tuesday night we play Montana State -- not in football but in basketball up in their tournament finals. ESPN at 8 pm CST. We beat Southern Mississippi in the first game.

I think we do as well. We have to keep play complimentary football.

Beating Villanova would be fine win for EKU -- would love to see it. Yet another feather in the cap of the UAC. I will be at the Northern Arizona vs ACU game here in Abilene. That should be a battle. The Texans can beat Drake, IMO, but if we win any 2 of 3, that would be good, 3 of 3 would signal the UAC has risen to a very serious conference.

Agree, if none of us can get past round two, would at least love to say that all 3 of us made it there.
