Biden* Delayed Aid Efforts With His Visit to North Carolina
Quote:Joe Biden visited hurricane-affected North Carolina on Wednesday after he had received a lot of criticism for the optics of remaining on the beach over the weekend while people were dying. He even did a flyover of the area.
But he didn't meet with any of the victims.
Add to that, Kamala Harris then offered people $750 in immediate aid. She mentioned they could apply online. But many people had lost everything and couldn't apply online, and many still don't have power. Plus, $750 dollars in the face of the Biden-Harris team pouring out millions to Ukraine and for illegal aliens incurred a lot of anger.
My colleague Streiff also reported on how Biden dawdled in ordering federal troops to help out.
Now, there are also reports that Biden delayed aid efforts because of his visit to North Carolina on Wednesday.
It's important to note because of the roads being wiped out and a lot of the people needing help being in hard to reach areas, a lot of the help has to be done by flying it in.
According to The Blaze correspondent Julio Rosas, who was covering rescue operations in the area:
Having talked with locals and volunteers in North Carolina: Despite Biden saying his visit to the area would not affect rescue/aid operations, his visit halted/delayed operations because of the no-fly zone.
That was a problem because many communities can only be accessed by air.
I can personally confirm Biden’s visit delayed operations because the helo team I’m with had to sit outside the TFR for two hours after doing a supply run. We’re about to be in the air again for another supply drop.
Rosas' report was also backed up by Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL). Mills has been involved for the last few days helping out and providing aid by helicopter to the hurricane-affected area. He's an example of what a real "public servant" is. He's also been posting daily reports on what's happening.
Mills said one of the things that slowed them down was the Biden flight restrictions that were put on the area for about four hours.
Mills called this "irresponsible" and said "Search and Rescue" was even grounded. Mills has also criticized FEMA for not responding appropriately, forcing individuals and private organizations to have to fill the gap to help the people affected. He said at least if they weren't doing what they should be doing, they shouldn't get in the way of the organizations that were doing the work.

Without the individual organizations and citizens of NC rallying around the western part of the state, I cannot even fathom what it would be

I've been involved in a few of these. To be fair, if you're on-scene commander, the last thing you want is a President or other VIP tying up your people and getting in the way.

I think the federal government's rather horrible response to their own people mirrors what happened in East Palestine. You have military bases throughout the area, and they could have been used along with their troops.
Money for illegal aliens and foreign wars, but not for the taxpayers.

Biden flew over in marine one so as to not clog the roads with and take away first responders on the ground. If he was on the ground you would still have a TFR, but you would also have first responders being pulled away from what they are doing.

Honestly, an aerial tour was better than him being on the ground. That would have really screwed things up for those on the ground trying to find survivors.

I’ll start by saying I think Joe Biden is awful and brain dead. Horrible, horrible President…….With that said, this is kind of a no win situation. If you go, you hamper the relief efforts, if you don’t go you don’t care….
Now, giving all the FEMA money for illegals & then sayin “No money left”…… totally this admins fault and it should get roasted for yet another horrible decision.

IMO the right thing to do would have been to stay away and hold a press conference
Explain why you are staying away...because simply the presence of a President ties up airways and roads, which are desperately needed for search and rescue missions
Then encourage the larger nation to donate and support relief efforts and remind the people negatively effected that they will be given what they need. $750 is just the beginning. He knows that doesnt even begin to scratch the surface and more is coming to help people rebuild
EASY PEASY, but none of that has happened.

This comes up with every natural disaster.
President's supporters will say their presence will only hamper efforts
Presiden't critics will say they don't care
It just flips flops who is saying which.
