How so? They are getting a 61.5% raise.

No, they haven't. They are still negotiating that. The automation thing is still on the table and most likely will never happen because it is stupid to not get into the 21st century.

The article I read this morning said that they agreed on a 61.5% raise over 6 years. Now they will negotiate the other parts of the deal. This was all about the money as I think they recognize that automation is going to come no matter what.

Depends on who wins the election.

If the Dems win, they'll keep working.

If Trump wins, they'll go back on strike and destroy the Trump economy.

Regardless of your politics it’s good that the strike is over

That's shocking to me. You'd figure with the sheer volume of trees in the U.S. and Canada there'd be no reason to import lumber from Europe - a continent that consumed most of their forests during the industrial revolution.

Would you be shocked to learn that at the very beginning of covid a handful of lumber mills in the US and Canada that produced dimensional lumber burned to the ground and weren't rebuilt?

Much of the southeastern timber goes into soft-goods. Paper towels, toilet paper, paper products, shavings for veneers and pressboard. A good bit of NC wood is chipped up and shipped out of the local ports onto factory ships that then return a pressboard product.
