Which president denied aid again…

Biden signed the CR on 9/26.

https://www.wymt.com/2024/09/26/biden-si...-election/

There were requests made to FEMA for multiple states from 9/26 - 9/30. No aid package has been signed.

https://www.fema.gov/disaster/declarations

When did providing aid become a partisan issue?

Was it when Spike Lee accused Bush administration of sending Hurricane Katrina to drive black people out of New Orleans.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/...icanes2005

Or was it when Democrats accused Trump of not helping Puerto Rico enough?

Biden-Harris admin sends 1,000 soldiers to aid North Carolina one week after Hurricane Helene hit

Quote:The Biden-Harris administration has authorized the movement of up to 1,000 active-duty troops in order to support in the response to the disaster left by Hurricane Helene a week after the storm made landfall. This comes after many have been critical of the administration's responses to the natural disaster.

A statement from the Pentagon released on Wednesday stated, "At the request of FEMA, the Secretary of Defense has authorized the movement of up to 1,000 active-duty Soldiers to support the delivery of food, water, and other critical aid 'over the last mile to the point of need' to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene."

The active-duty troops come from Fort Liberty, North Carolina. The state is one of the places that has been hit the hardest by the storm and some may question why the soldiers were not deployed sooner, given their proximity to the disaster.

FEMA has been slammed this week over statements made by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who admitted that the agency did not have adequate funding to make it to the end of the hurricane season, or the end of November. This comes as it was also reported that FEMA diverted around $650 million earlier this year to shelters for illegal immigration.

"Employment of these Soldiers will provide additional manpower and logistics capabilities, enabling FEMA and other interagency partners to reach the hardest hit areas as quickly as possible. Their mission will include delivering support and commodities to impacted and isolated communities, assisting with supply point logistics at commodity staging locations, and removing debris from affected routes," the statement from the Pentagon added.

"The DoD has been fully engaged with FEMA and the whole-of-government relief efforts related to Hurricane Helene, and will continue to work with our federal, state, and local partners to ensure we are supporting and coordinating response efforts."

It was reported by NBC News that at least 215 people are dead with hundreds more unaccounted for after the destruction of the storm.

It's been a couple days. 01-wingedeagle

Meanwhile your cult leader sticks his fat red hat into the disaster to use a tragedy for his own personal gain. They built the SOAB a wall out of the bricks from a collapsed building so he could stand behind them for his photo op! Who took time to build that? Who took time to arrange semi-trucks to secure the area where he spoke? Seems like those guys could have been helping somewhere, right?

And what have the governor's said? Yeah, all have said they are getting what they need, regardless of their politics. And as X pointed out, trump withheld aid to NC when he was president that the governor said was needed.

Were the federal declarations not done or withheld? Were they late? No, they were early.

Is FEMA not mobilizing?
Is the NG not mobilizing?

Again, yes, they are.

But oh ****...Biden and Harris weren't filling sandbags...yeah...the states don't want them there yet as they just divert resources. And please tell me you guys know that it's ******* 2024? You can manage all this via phones and other communications channels. You don't need a president there shouting through a bullhorn! 01-wingedeagle

And then you have that POS trump, wearing a campaign hat, LYING to all who will hear that the government is not trying to help you...and that Biden hasn't or won't talk to the governors.

It's ******* deplorable...and the replies here from the posters are equally disgusting. 07-coffee3

Kamala gonna lose NC and GA

Deal with it princess

Sure, keep playing politics. Deplorable.

Politics?

LOL...that's what you guys do
@weaponizeDOJ

BTW, I still remember the BS media storm over Katrina and Puerto Rico

Biden and Harris are deliberately delaying relief getting to Georgia and North Carolina because those two are swing states that Trump was winning up until the hurricane happened. Now, without the infrastructure and security for voting, fraud will be rampant in those two states, and Harris will those two states on her way to winning the election.

RE: Hurricane Helene Fallout Shows Why America Can’t Afford Another Potemkin Presidency

Quote:The problem with all the lies and conspiracies about FEMA, etc. is that too many journalists are going to get overwhelmed with those and just stop trying to report the really bureaucratic nonsense that is slowing down rescue and recovery.

For example: North of Greenville, SC, one shelter wouldn’t let the survivors take showers because they didn’t have flip-flops. A local volunteer group had to go find flip-flops.

FEMA has tried to stop people entering areas to catalog equipment being brought into areas, slowing people down. Locals are finding alternate routes.

Government crews, when arriving in areas, are trying to stop the local volunteer clearing crews already there so they can take over instead of just helping.

On top of all of that— and the biggest scandal — the delay of military resource mobilization after the storm, which raises all sorts of questions about how many dead were still alive and could have been rescued if the right mobilization had happened.

FEMA is not arresting people to my knowledge. There are lots of claims, but no cell phone videos.

But reporters who think FEMA and the government aren’t causing problems need to spend more time talking to locals. But, then, many of the reporters insisting FEMA is fine are being their keyboards in DC and NYC.

White House said FEMA made funding available for illegal immigrants in 2022

Quote:During a 2022 White House briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would be providing funds to help cities provide shelter and other humanitarian aid to illegal immigrants coming into the country. The clip resurfaced this week as Jean-Pierre said that it was "categorically false" that FEMA was helping to provide aid for illegal immigrants in the US for shelters.

During the September 2022 briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked about illegal immigrants getting transported out of different US cities by busses and how the government was supporting cities to assist with the migrants coming into the country.

The press secretary told reporters at the time, "So FEMA regional administrators have been meeting with city officials on-site to coordinate available federal support from FEMA and other federal agencies."

Jean-Pierre added, "Funding is also available through FEMA's emergency food and shelter program to eligible local governments and not-for-profit organizations upon request to support humanitarian relief for migrants. We'll continue to do what we can as a federal government to support these cities as we rebuild our asylum processing system after it was gutted by the Trump administration."

This week, it was reported that FEMA has been providing around $641 million in funding for shelters around the country for illegal immigrants. The locations with the shelters include Salt Lake County, Utah; San Jose, California, Washington DC, and many others.

When Jean-Pierre was asked about the funds, which were diverted from FEMA earlier this year to help illegal immigrants, she said, "It is not true, it is a false statement, and look, the fact of the matter is, I think Washington Post fact-checker did a piece, and the headline recently, just moments ago, not too long ago, and the headline was 'No, Biden didn’t take FEMA relief money to use on migrants — but Trump did."
