Mark Zuckerberg, Libertarian
Quote:Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, is reportedly realigning his political stance toward libertarian ideology and has brought in a Republican strategist to help repair his strained relationship with right-wing media and political operatives. This shift comes after years of accusations that Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, engaged in censorship, particularly against conservative viewpoints. The move signals a potential strategic pivot for one of the world’s most influential tech leaders.

I have never understood why a businessman with a giant company would intentionally alienate half its potential fan base, at least in this country.

And that’s ALL this is about. Money. Nothing will really change.

RE: Mark Zuckerberg, Libertarian
I’m not quite ready to believe that Zuckerberg is an ally to any center or right-of-center political values. But even if his organization was simply non-partisan, that would be a huge gain compared to the 2008-2023 era.

If Zuckerberg really is undergoing some sort of political reassessment, I would be curious to know what caused it. Z doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who keeps kosher or observes the sabbath. But over the past year or so, I’ve noticed that even a lot of secular/agnostic/whatever-type of Jewish people are shocked and genuinely frightened by the attacks on Israel, by the aggression and boldness of the anti-Jewish activists on some American college campuses, and by the precious, evasive response to it by the leadership on those campuses and society at-large.

He could try something actually brave and endorse Trump. Otherwise people will just think it's all for PR.

Maybe he's worried about what a GOP trifecta in November would mean for him.

Have you seen the movie, the Social Network? Its apparently accurate. Nobody has been sued over it. Zuckerberg is an arrogant sob.

If true, it doesn't matter what his motivation is. In fact, if it's all about preserving and making money...then that's a good thing. It means we as consumers have more power.

Maybe. Although he seemed unfazed by it when it happened in 2017/18.

Things are different now. Tons of people are ANGRY now. People are using their wallets to voice their beliefs now. 2018 is a world ago now.
