RE: First Advanced Nuclear Research Reactor Approved
The Research activity (not just the nuclear reactor project but also the Neutrino work at FermiLab and prior work on the graviton) has really propelled ACU in national rankings. U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings today, and we were one of only 26 U.S. institutions ranked in the top 50 in both Undergraduate Research and Teaching. This puts us in elite company, alongside Carnegie Mellon, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Yale. ACU and Baylor were the only two Texas schools to make both lists. This is a very nice honor for a school in the WAC.

RE: First Advanced Nuclear Research Reactor Approved
We are now one of 11 projects in the nation that have been fast tracked by our government to attempt to get our advanced reactor up and running in 2026. Of the 11 projects selected, we are the first to have a promise of fuel from the DOE, to have our reactor facility built and approved, and to have our reactor construction permit approved by the NRC. It will be tough, but hopefully we can meet the President's charge to be up and going by July 4th next year. The race is on. It would be really cool for a WAC University to accomplish this major victory for our country -- the first liquid fueled molten salt nuclear reactor in the history of the NRC !!!
