Big 10 and SEC fans only: would you rather have conference playoffs?
Would you rather commence with the CFP-14 (or some similar, multi league arrangement) or would you prefer if you conference held its own 6-7 team playoff and then had their champ square up against each other— Big 10 vs SEC?

Nah, give me a 14 team CFP, 5+9 with the top 2 champs earning the bye (possibly top 4 champs earning top 8 seed), campus CFP games in the 1st round and semis (top 8 seeds have opportunity to host, but have the option of using a regional dome if a team can't host), QFs played at the Rose, Sugar, Cotton, and either Orange or Peach bowls, natty is neutral site.
I think it would be more healthy for the sport as a whole to keep as many teams within FBS involved as possible, regardless of conference affiliation (whether that's 60, 72, 96, 112, or 136 teams). Also better to reduce/limit the amount of neutral site games in the CFP and during the regular season (Army-Navy, Red River, and WLOCP can definitely stay neutral site).

No conference playoff. I’m “fine” with the CCG. Auto-byes to the B1G/SEC Champions seems good. CFP-14, maybe add 2-4 qualifier games on CCG weekend to replace M2/G5 CCGs and incorporate all FBS conferences directly.

Agreed totally.

Too bad you guys are just dreaming. It will involve 56-72 teams based upon who can afford the play at that level. I expect the CFP to go to 16 teams and all of the regular season games to be contained within the upper tier. IOW, a closed tier. Conference Championship games will continue but they will only involve 2 teams, each likely getting a CFP slot. Champions are important to conferences. Seeding is important to the CFP.
I think this tier will eventually breakaway from the NCAA if it doesn't at the outset. And at some point, NIL will truly be for commercial endorsements and players will be under contract, as I've stated since the inception of NIL. It's the only way to control it. If a player is pursued by another team and he wants to leave they'll have to buyout his contract. It's the only way to keep it from becoming the Wild West.
You can't do that unless you have complete control within a closed system which has uniformed governance. I look for 2 maybe 3 conferences in that system.

I assumed that when the college football playoff expanded it would be with expanded P4 conferences. Each at say 16, broken into four pods or divisions. Then the playoff would be a division champs round, a conference championship round and then the four conference champs facing off. As is right now, I'd prefer to see a playoff system open for all conference champs to have a chance to get picked to play. If the day comes that the BIG and SEC are both in the 20-24+ school size, then I'd prefer it to be just those two. At that point any school who has a chance to win a football championship (or pretty much any championship) would be in one or the other conference.

No other college sport has champs only. In fact, the rules call for at least 50% who aren't.
Even baseball eventually gave in and added wildcards.
It just simply will be not structured that way.
