Quote:WASHINGTON, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Alphabet's Google broke the law with monopolistic behavior over online search and related advertising, a federal judge ruled on Monday, the first victory for U.S. antitrust authorities who have filed several lawsuits challenging Big Tech's market dominance.
The decision is a significant win for the Justice Department, which had sued the search engine giant over its control of about 90% of the online search market, and 95% on smartphones.

I don't trust any of those legal bastards. They'll use the ruling against Google somehow to attack Musk and X for not towing the blue line in election coverage.

"subjectivity" is a problem ... especially when I can use 'time against' any opponent ... yep, no way I could live with myself had I chosen law...

Amazon to break up their monopoly that is causing businesses to close down.
We need rulings against all companies. PepsiCo owns so many fast food places where only Pepsi products are sold at.
We need to break up these big corporations that owns so many cable channels.
ESPN have all these sports channels that they own including SEC and ACC Networks.
I want to see a break up of the online streaming and tech stuff as well.

Gargoyle, Amasszon, Appile, Microsux, and more...break them each up into 100 or more pieces each...also, Big Media--return the rules to disallow too many stations/outlets in each market and too much multi-state cross-ownership...and Big banks--return them to no larger than state borders and eliminate multi-state too big to fail banking/insurance/finance conglomerates...then force China to divest all 100% of US ownership of any land, businesses and companies here...make then compete from outside only...and that's just a start...

X has a 6% market share, Facebook is 40%. Why mention Musk for something might do? You starting pre-crime now? Where’s Tom Cruise?
The timing of this couldn't be any worse for Google, as the world's biggest YouTube channel, Mr. Beast, is going down in flames as a now-former employee (and coincidentally, the channel's fkrst subscriber) is facing accusations of grooming - and his* boss, Mr. Beast himself (Jimmy Donaldson), was on the same Discord server when the incident took place. This is on top of a whole host of other accusations about unsafe conditions, not paying winners, running illegal lotteries, and more.
*The former employee was born a male, but now identifies as female. It's even worse as the former employee divorced his wife after having a child with her.

Trump DOJ deserves a lot of credit for starting this. Good job!
Biden DOJ deserves a lot of credit for not settling or just dropping this, I'm sure the pressure was on them to do just that. Also good job!
Trust busting rules! I will cheer and celebrate anyone from any political leaning that does it. If Trump wins and decides to become the Trust Buster in Chief I will loudly and happily cheer for that. I couldn't give less of a crap what "team" does objectively good things or who gets credit for it.
