Tom knows everything, just ask him.
You guys are the drama queens of the logical fallacy, that's for sure.
So you don't know everything? Why do you [try to] speak as an authority on everything here then?

Quote:That’s not what happened today, spokesperson Ross Allen said. The company will continue operating two of the state’s nine remaining refineries, keep pulling oil from the ground and leave its 1,800 branded stations in place. The only immediate effect will be to move CEO Mike Wirth and Vice Chair Mark Nelson to Houston, where Chevron already has some 7,000 employees, this year, with most of the rest of the 2,000 employees in San Ramon to follow over the next five years.
If the CEO and CFO are changing addresses, they'll also want the rest of the executive team around them. And the rest of the executive team will want everyone they deal with day-to-day to move, too. And so-on down the line.
In the end it will probably be several hundred to a thousand or so very high paying jobs.
Chevron's top management is leaving, they are not stopping doing business there. That said, that is a lot of income tax revenue heading east. Top Brass at Chevron make some serious dough.
It is a big deal for a number of reasons, never mind the negative PR it brings.
Oh, definitely that Chevron isn't shutting down their CA operations. They won't leave such a large market where the politicians have effectively (and deliberately) outlawed supply increases. That's a golden recipe for future profit.
I have two family members in who work for a major oil company who tell me that their company made a serious attempt to get approvals for a new refinery (or it might have been an expansion of an existing one) in CA a couple years ago. They were flatly turned down by CA regulators because CA government employees are absolutely convinced that the state has already passed Peak Oil.
