RE: To our lib friends, how exactly is Trump a threat to democracy?

Making a deal with OPEC that caused gas prices to go up. Brokering the awful deal that led to us leaving $80 billion worth of military equipment. Yes Biden bears responsible too. The same deal that led to the death of those 13 American heroes.same strike for both Giving tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations to put the burden on the average taxpayer. But crying foul when it is student debt. Inflation was 1.4%, not due to Trump's awful negotiating skills, but a global pandemic. Which he handled atrociously, causing needless additional deaths. Speaking of which where was that better than ACA legislation he and the rest of the GOP promised?
Edit: threat to Democracy you ask? How long did he stay quiet on Jan 6th? And asked his VP to break the law.
The following is written from the viewpoint of a Trump supporter who wasn't a Trump supporter in 2016. The writer, yours truly, is that Trump supporter who wasn't a Trump supporter in 2016. Reader discretion is advised, even though there is virtually no swearing or incendiary language contained herein.
Illegal immigration: Cartels, human trafficking, drug trafficking, Central and South American gangs infiltrating our country, and even suspected terrorists are why we need a wall on both the northern and southern borders. Plus, as others have pointed out, Israel built a wall to keep terrorists out and with the exception of a few crossings here and there, it's done its job. Oh, and in case you have forgotten, Laken Riley, Kate Steinle, and especially Jessica Nungaray, a TWELVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL, were all murdered by illegal aliens. Nungaray's killers are members of a violent gang based in Venezuela. Also, you speak of Republicans voting down the bill that would've "solved" this problem so we could have an issue to run on. A few things about that. First, the Democrats attached it to the Ukraine funding bill instead of making it a stand-alone bill, which it what should've been done. Underhanded tactic, if you ask me. Second, I've heard that it would've been even worse than the lax enforcement we have now. It would've given sole power of determining whether someone is here illegally or not to the DC district court. That would've ultimately been ruled Unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Now I do agree that Congress should be handling this issue, but not the way they proposed. Third, if Biden hadn't rolled back all of Trump's Executive Orders on the border on day one -- I repeat, DAY ONE! -- the border would still be secure and we wouldn't need to be discussing this. And finally, I feel the need to point this out: We welcome immigrants and political refugees from all corners of the globe. We just need them to come here legally. That's it.
Your accusation that Trump made a deal with OPEC and therefore drove gas prices up: Have a link for that? And not from some silly little institute or coalition that is in reality a leftist think tank. An actual news article. Also, we were building the Keystone XL pipeline, which would've delivered oil from Alberta, Canada, to Texas for refinement, therefore giving us oil from a valuable ally instead of a cartel made up of countries that hate us. Also, if I remember correctly, he actually removed a lot of the "red tape" that largely restricted oil companies from drilling on our soil so we could actually drill on our own soil and utilize our own oil. He understood that our energy policy shouldn't be tied to foreign policy in any way whatsoever. (I'll talk about this at another time.) We should be energy independent. Furthermore, if we want to have vehicles with internal combustion engines, we should have the freedom to purchase, lease, or rent them if we want. If any of us wants an EV instead, we should be able to buy that as well. Forcing one or the other on us is wrong, regardless of party. Heck, I'm all for looking for alternatives to petroleum-based energy sources. But the free market should decide what the best, most efficient alternative energy source should be, not the federal government.
Abbeygate deaths/Afghanistan withdrawal: Trump had already withdrawn tens of thousands of troops from Afghanistan. He had an organized withdrawl that we were in the process of completing when Biden was "elected" to the White House. And yes, you're right. Biden did bungle that withdrawal. It should've been orderly, but it ended up being chaotic as all get out. Oh, and by the way, there's video evidence of him looking at his watch while the caskets of the thirteen servicemen and women were being unloaded from the aircraft.
Giving tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans and corporations and raised taxes on the middle class: A few have already refuted that, but I'll also do this. My mom has had to pay more income tax under Biden than she ever did under Trump, and she never had to pay under Trump. So really, she has to pay income taxes under Biden. By the way, she's on Social Security. Has been ever since my dad passed away in 2017. Also, do you realize that almost all Fortune 500 companies have endorsed Biden and not Trump? There's something you should think about. Third, I had to pay income taxes the last two years I was married to my ex-wife, and we didn't make all that much yearly while we were together. Who was president then? Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., not Donald John Trump. So tell me again how Biden and the Democrat Party is looking out for the working class? Unfortunately, you can't because he's not.
Student debt: As for student debt, well, when you take out a loan, you're expected to pay it back. Student loans are no exception. Now I do believe a lot of predatory lending by the Department of Education is going on and that should be reformed. I also believe that if it's proven that your school misrepresented itself to students as well as the DOE (read: lied to students and the DOE about post-graduation employment assistance and overall post-graduation employment numbers), you should have your loans discharged and any money you paid on loans taken out from that should be refunded to you because what that particular school did to you and the DOE is fraud. Otherwise, if you borrowed it, you need to pay it back. Another solution to that is pick a major you can actually use and not some silly subject like "animal gender studies" or "human hair basket weaving". Another alternative is to go to a trade school and learn a trade. Yet another option is joining the military and utilizing the G.I. Bill.
Inflation/economy: Before the pandemic, our economy was running like a well-oiled machine. There were jobs being created left and right. Manufacturing was coming back to this country because Trump had again removed the "red tape" that had been in place which restricted companies from making things here. And if it hadn't been for the Pandemic, this country would gone to even bigger heights economically. Furthermore, we have supply shortages in several areas, which shouldn't be happening. We even have cargo ships lined up waiting to get into this country and they're having to wait anywhere between five days to three months (rough estimate) just to have their cargo unloaded. And it's affected several businesses all across teh country. Subway quit carrying olives, for God's sake! And "Build Back Better" has been a joke. Finally, NAFTA was a horrible trade deal. Trump renegotiated a better trade deal for us and it was benefiting us when the Pandemic hit.
Speaking of...
COVID-19 Pandemic: A lot of those numbers were inflated by the media because most of the people who died had underlying conditions like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. Also, Trump trusted the wrong people during the handling of the Pandemic. I think he needs to admit that and say he'll never do that again. Another thing, you had governors who put COVID patients in nursing homes (New York's Andrew Cuomo comes to mind) and telling people to either "social distance" themselves and "mask up" or even stay home and turn around and have a big party (California Governor Gavin Newsom) while people couldn't work. Wouldn't you say that's akin to Nero watching Rome burn? I'd say so.
ObamaCare: I don't know how he would replace it, but I know how I would replace it. Remove the middle man altogether. Let the doctors and patients come up with a rate on their own for Primary Care Physician visits. Something like $250/month, for example. As for the insurance companies, reduce deductible rates and make all prescribed medications coverable. Also, Trump instituted the Right To Try and saved thousands of lives by letting dying patients use experimental medications to stay alive and even beat whatever was ailing them. As for Big Pharma, well, that's the one area that needs a hell of a lot of regulation and reform. We need to make medication prices affordable again. Big Pharma has run amock. Medicare reform is needed again, too.
J6: I forget who actually suggested this, but this particular person suggested to then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi that the National Guard needed to be brought in on January 6, 2021, and she said no. That would've most likely prevented any riot or "insurrection" that took place that day. Also, Trump said to "peacefully and patriotically protest" at the Capitol. He furthermore even condemned any and all violence that was occurring at the Capitol. Unfortunately, the legacy media never reported it. As for calling for Pence to "break the law", there was precedent set in the late Nineteenth Century. There was a dispute similar to the 2020 Presidential Election. In 1876, Rutherford B. Hayes was running for President against Samuel J. Tilden. Hayes was the Republican nominee whereas Tilden was the Democrat nominee. Long story short, it was very, very contentious. There was a Constitutional crisis. This is where we get the Electoral Commission. It's all there in the link I've provided. Anyway, there was historical precedent for certain members of Congress in both chambers to request an investigation to make sure Biden's election was in fact legitimate, and yes, that should've happened. Due to the fact it didn't, a lot of people regardless of political affiliation do not trust elections by dealing with voter fraud and election fraud, and unless this is properly addressed, I fear that trust will never come back.

I could've gone on, but I think you get the point.
