It's starting to show in college football (though not necessarily with the Big Ten), and with FOX cutting back on other sports as well, IMO

NFL is king in all sports. Period the end. Fox guaranteed to have the top 2 things in all sports with the Super Bowl and the NFC Championship game for 2025. Yeah, that's huge.

Agree to disagree. Also, the AFC Championship is better, IMO. The World Cup is king in all sports, hands down. The NFL might be king in all US sports, but not in all sports period. In addition, the NBA has been working on dethroning the NFL in the US.

you might not like it, but it's reality. 93 of the top 100 TV programs in 2023 were the NFL. Fox had 11 of the top 20 NFL games last year. CBS had 5. ABC/ESPN had 3. NBC had 1. NFL is absolutely king- and just getting bigger in bigger.
2020 NFL 72 of top 100
2021 NFL 75 of top 100
2022 NFL 82 of top 100
2023 NFL 93 of top 100

The final match of the 2022 World Cup got 1.5 billion viewers. In contrast, Super Bowl
LVII had 115.1 million viewers.

now do US only, which is what matters to Fox.
World Cup 16.8 million
Super Bowl 115.1 million(last year even higher at 123.4 million)
You can cry and whine all you want. The NFL is absolutely king in the US. Period, the end.

RE: FOX overpaid for the NFL!!
FOX paid just $200M more per year but also places their games on TUBI. They prepaid the NFL for expanded digital rights. Plus, the want the lead in on Sunday night for The Simpsons as opposed to whatever dodoo they have on Saturday nights in the Fall. When they negotiated the contract in 2021, FOX was yet to have a production studio for programming following the 20th Century sale to Disney.
