People appear surprised that lawful protest in the US is being met with a very heavy handed approach by law enforcement.

As the empire falls it will become more desperate to project its faux strength and power. Given it is failing to do so internationally, the narcissistic bully will turn its attention to domestic matters to feed its mindless addiction to control, out of a paranoid fear that it will lose that control if it doesn't do so.

If this was happening in China, we would be calling it Tienenman Square 2 and be calling for regime change.

There's nothing peaceful about illegal gatherings of hundreds or thousands of people. There's a key word in there that can help you understand the difference.
