Keg and Kernel Closing
I know what downtown DeKalb needs to attract residents. Cheap liquor stores that guys could hang out in front of and yell at and fight with each other, a shooting range, and much larger street corners where thugs could gather and loiter. Add some marijuana vending machines and we have a winner!
Oh, and they should bring back the Paperback Grotto for decent, upstanding gentlemen like me who enjoy paperbacks.
EDIT: On second thought, it may be too much to ask DeKalb’s residents to travel all the way downtown. So, DeKalb should build some cheap Section 8 housing downtown. Then the downtown residents could just sleep until noon and then go downstairs to do their thing. Downtown will be bustling with lots of foot traffic and action all day and night!

Did you guys hear they closed the Soda Pop Shoppe?
Same thing with the records store, the Blockbuster, the Bed Bath and Beyond, the Sears, the Montgomery Ward, the Heaven and Earth Internet Cafe, and the Horse Slaughtering Plant.
Outrageous. Freeman, Carey and STF have ruined life as we know it.

Oh, come on now! Please be reasonable. They were only responsible for the closing of Sears. They pushed hard to keep the horse slaughtering plant because that’s where they planned on sending problem students. Come to think of it, that’s maybe what happened to our student population!
