Alexander Scott Mercurio allegedly described himself in texts to confidential informants as having “a craving for mayhem and murder to terrorize those around me”.

The 18-year-old, who allegedly said he was raised in a “very Christian and conservative” household, said he had turned to ISIS teachings.

Mercurio allegedly planned to steal weapons out of his father’s gun closet and survival kits.

The FBI stormed the young man's house on March 6 and arrested him the day before he was going to initiate his attacks on churches in his town and kill as many as he could. Good to see the FBI get one right and just in time.

The young man faces 20 years in prison so he could be free again at 38 years old.

I have to admit, my own personal opinion of the FBI is so jaded now that I’m really not sure how much of this story, if any, is actually true.

Same. Got to wonder what this is to deflect from.

I would more likely believe that they would let him go but brought with it and supply him with AR 15s to make sure they could ban the arms they wanted. Couldn’t risk him using semi auto pistols.
