It’s “Russian propaganda” that the U.S. is $36 trillion in the hole and spends tons of money on wars and color revolutions all over the globe. And when these color revolutions happen, chaos and war generally follow.

I’m still waiting for the “correct” American version of events to educate me on why that isn’t exactly what has been happening.

Until that happens, I guess I’ll believe my own eyes.

“We don’t see a lot of Russian activity, to be frank, on the system. We see very little,” Musk responded. “We do see a lot of attempts to influence things, but they seem to be coming from the West, not from Russia.”

The USA. The great propaganda machine.

Elon knows where the traffic is coming from, what it’s promoting etc.

I wish for Ukraine to win and want to arm them so they can fight off invasion from an aggressive Bear. I would consider NATO membership for Ukraine. It is in our self interest.

However, better accountability about how American tax dollars are spent and equipment used should be mandated. For example, is any US aid being used to pay Ukraine government employees? Is corruption (an endemic situation in Ukraine in the past) involved with the spending of American taxpayer money? If adequate accountability exists, then it should be better communicated to the American people.

The Russian invasion highlights a more troubling issue concerning the alarming state of American defense production. A big part of the problem with helping Ukraine is not the will, but the means. We are not capable presently of supplying them the weapons and ammo they need and maintain stockpiles for other potential conflicts (e.g., Taiwan) We are no longer the arsenal of democracy.

A major cause of the issue is lack of budget priority. Defense spending as a percentage of GDP has declined since 9/11. Yes, we can spend money more efficiently and with better strategic vision, but nothing succeeds like excess.
