i was alerted to this instagram post by one of our drexel colleagues. i'm not smart enough to put a photo in here but hopefully the link will work or you can pull up your instagram. it lists our "accomplishments" this year" like:
-number of wins against caa opponents to START the season. i didn't know they gave out trophies for that.
-62.5% winning percentage was highest in a big 5 that was terrible again this year. how about a 33% winning percentage against the big 5? forgot to mention that.
-beating a ranked opponent. villanova sucked and didn't finish anywhere close to ranked.
-number consecutive wins against caa opponents to close out the year. you have to add the "close out the year" caveat because we choked at home against temple.
-undefeated at home against caa opponents. against...have to specify caa opponents because we choked in our biggest home game arguably in years.
i could keep going but you see the pattern.
it might be a while before you see me at a men's game. don't insult me by trying to act like last year was successful. i might not be able to post pictures onto message boards...but i'm not a total idiot.
the post is really a lesson in how to say a lot without saying anything at all. that fits with the head coach. i picked up on dragonscast that he's keeping track of his quality wins. there have been so few that he had to remind everyone that charleston was ranked or almost ranked when he beat them.
i'm mostly pointing this out because it's the first real communication i've seen out of anyone since the caa tournament. i guess i was hoping for some sign that we've turned a corner in expecting more from ourselves. obviously we continue to be satisfied with the same old status quo that for anybody with appropriate standards would not be good enough.
