Max Johnson is back from injury and in the lineup at 2B instead of Royo, and as he is 0-2 tonight, he remains hitless for the entire season.

After a lead off walk to Manny, he moves over on a WP, and then Motley hits a one-out single to drive him in. Now down only 4-3.

What a lineup-- 2 guys hitting 0.000, 4 guys hitting under the Mendoza Line and another three hitting below .230. I also don't understand what in the world Bing and Jose are doing with Alch. He's a starting pitcher; always has been. Why do we continue to start him (every 3 days over the past 2+ weeks), but never let him go more than 2 innings? Makes absolutely no sense. We desperately need another starter who can go 5+ innings. Alch has the potential to do that, but can't if he's never stretched beyond 2 innings.

lol, you failed to mention that Johnson finally got a hit; albeit a bunt single, ending his 0-28 skid to start the season. I'm tired asking this question, but why is he playing either 1B, LF or SS/2B so long as we have ANYONE else who is not injured. It's not like his defense is better than Royo, Gallo or Rank...and as bad as Royo and Gallo have been slumping, they're infinitely better than Johnson at bat.

Did you see the “hit”? It was a poorly executed bunt that he popped up but blessedly dropped just over the pitcher and in front of a charging SS. That said, it is a hit!

UH starts the T8 with a pitcher with a 6.00 ERA in 12 IP, yet he gets a 1-2-3 inning on 8 pitches.

After a solid 7th, in the 8th Hickson gives up an incredibly unlucky dribbler that heads toward the 3B line, but dies just fair. Sac bunt moves the runner over. Jose goes to the pen and brings in Vincent.

Great job by Vincent! 2Ks strand the runner at second. Owls have one more chance in the top of the 9th, down 4-3

Not an easy stat to find. Easy to find out where the pitchers rank in K's thrown (131 out of 295), but not the batters.
