Just some rumors. Supposedly he met with the team and told them he was leaving and that sparked the portal activity. Not surprised at all since he has interviewed for another job every year he's been here (one was ETSU), so there is clearly a desire to leave. College of Charleston seems to be a likely landing spot. At CofC basketball is the big dog. Plus, Charleston is a great place to live. I love App as much as anyone and this year was incredible, but it is and always will be a football school.

Again.. Just a rumor. Nothing more than that. I don't put too a lot of stock in those.

Kerns was on a Circle of Excellence (our biggest donors) call today and the report I'm getting is nothing is happening with him, as of now. Of course there could
always be trickle down from a few other moves. Hearing we made Absom & Spillers solid NIL offers, but evidently someone is offering a great deal more.

I really hate all this NIL transfer portal stuff nowadays

We went crazy with basketball dedicated NIL funds this year and raised over 500K. Early days, but this may appear to be a huge advantage over everyone else heading into next year.

JMU players haven't all portaled yet, but with the coach gone, I would expect a bunch there as well.

If Troy can hold on to Tayton Conerway, Myles Rigsby, and Marcus Rigsby, that'll be a huge win. So far, so good.

I think we are in good place to make an even better run at the title next year if everyone stays and buys in next year. Especially with JMU & App taking hits.

Need to treat our sports like little league baseball. You got one team for one year to do as much as you can and go as far as you can. And don't hold back because you are going to be building a whole new team the next year and you have no idea who's going to be on it.

I wish his dream was a reality as well, but the game has moved well past growing talent. Now you have to basically run a college team like a pro one, attract free agents, pay to keep the ones you have now. Except the big boys don't have a salary cap and the rest of us have peanuts to offer in comparison. Luckily there are still a handful out there that prioritize loyalty and playing time.

Yeah, Edwards has been at JMU for 4 years, took part in Senior Day, and said something to the effect that he really wants to return, but needs to go to the next part of his life. We knew he was gone. I think he is just testing to see if he can make a substantially higher NIL salary in college than he could playing professionally in Europe. And yes, that sentence I just wrote is ridiculous.

Brown and Carey just entered. Those are the ones that hurt.

Out of App's 9 man rotation, 2 graduated, 6 entered the portal. Myles Tate is the last man standing (until he's announced).
