Portal link for WBB
Don't know if anyone else did this on this forum, but thought there might be some interest in seeing how WBB is faring in the portal. So ...

Picked this website up on another forum, then clicked around 'til I found the best (?) page link. On the page click the "X" to close the subscribe box (if it shows up), then scroll down to the highlighted list of conferences. Click on "MAC" (or other conference) to select. That will give you a team-by-team list of players who have entered the portal.

If someone has inked with a new team, also lists that. Updated regularly.

Enjoy.

Ps. Some notes:
-- If you see a team whose portal entries are Sr. or G, not really unusual. If you see a team where ALL are of a class -- like Fr., Soph. or Jr. -- could indicate a "problem" since they have more eligibility if they stay.
-- For my nearest and dearest NIU, 2 in the portal, one Sr. and one G. Same for UMass, which indicates (hopefully) WBB has bought into the MAC like FB and MBB.
-- Now the adjacent OVC ... hmmm. Consider these:
Eastern Illinois: 3 in the portal, all are Jr.
Morehead State: 5 in the portal, all are Jr.
Tennessee Tech: 3 in the portal, all are Soph.

Shop around the conferences; see what you can find.

Keeping to the MAC half of Akrons roster is in the portal with the most noticeable player being Bass.

Dacia Lewandowski, 5’11, G, Fr. (DNP)

Leila Jones, 5’10, G, Fr. (0.2 ppg)

Olivia Brown, 6’1, G, Fr. (0.6 ppg)

Tahmala Thorpe, 5’4, G, Sr. (1.9 ppg)

Alexis Stewart, 5’10, G, Sr. (3.3 ppg)

Annie Watson, 6’0, F, Soph. (7.5 ppg – 2022-23)

Reagan Bass, 6’1, F, Jr. (16.4 ppg, 9.9 rpg)

Sad to see Bass in the portal, she was a dominant post player. Akron had a new coach this season, so most or all of these girls were recruited and played for a previous staff. He will have a chance to build the roster with his own recruits now. It will allow the girls to find a spot somewhere that will allow them playing time.

Looks like Toledo’s Tricia Cullop is likely headed to Miami as their new head coach. Huge loss for Toledo considering all her success. I'm sure we will see a bunch of Toledo players enter the portal now.

I think most of the girls that played last year had used up their eligibility, which probably made it a good time for Coach Cullop to leave. I thought she did a tremendous job for Toledo. She ran a great program and really helped build their fan base to as good as any midmajor in the country.

No, the only relevant losses due to eligibility were Wiard and Lockett. Everyone else of note was due to come back (until now).

Looking at the Rockets roster from last year they had 3 girls listed as 5th year and 5 others listed as Seniors.

Only Wiard and Lockett have exhausted their eligibility.

Barnes played few enough games last year to get a medical redshirt for an extra year, but has chosen to transfer for that 6th year.

Curry is not expected to be back for what would be her 6th year, but there has never been an official announcement.

Swedlund, who sat out her freshman season with injury, has announced she is transferring.

So, that's the 5 not returning. Only Lockett and Wiard were major contributors. Barnes provided some good minutes off the bench, but they were limited.

Mikonowicz and Goss have both publicly stated they intended to be back for their 5th years. Noveroske and Garcia were both also expected to be back for their 6th/5th years respectively, although I do not believe either have stated that publicly.

Of course, with Cullop leaving, all bets are off now. No new transfer announcements yet, but it is too soon to know who else might choose to test the portal waters. Hopefully a new coach will be named without much delay, so we can sort out what will remain of the roster.

See this thread: https://csnbbs.com/thread-989062.htm on the Toledo board which tracks all the known/reported roster changes for all the MAC schools, so far. I'll update it periodically as things change.

Now Ball State's Nyla Hampton is in the portal. Wouldn't be surprised to see her go to Miami with Tricia Cullop.

Thanks for taking the time to lay it all out.
