Thanks Bob. Just found he site. I guess we play Fairfield, Sunday at 2:30 Central. Gives Makhel another full week to recover, if that's possible.

Way bracket’s are set it’s possible Arkansas State and Little Rock could play for Championship

The Fairfield Stags, out of the MAAC, were 22-12 this season. Same conference as Fairleigh Dickinson that beat Purdue in the NCAA tournament last year. Fairfield won at Yale (who is in the NCAA tournament). They were 14-6 in the league and lost to St. Peters in the Championship game. A tough first game, but a really nice matchup against a team we would never play during the regular season. Should be fun and very challenging for our guys.

They have a NET of 161, while we are at 182. Pretty evenly matched teams. ASU plays #308 Bethune Cookman. Looks easy, but they are located in Daytona Beach.

RE: CBI
Looking at the bracket it appears that they couldn't get a 16th team. Makes me wonder if the CIT will even be held.

Like us, they ended the season hot, winning 7 of 8 going into their tournament championship game.

Don’t think I’ll pay for flohoops but probably listen to Ray. But if MJS buys it he could invite us all over

Seems reasonable to me. Honestly, its possible looking at the field. We'd have to get through Bethune Cookman, Montana, and High Point to get there...not easy, but doable if we play our full roster.

The bracket set-up is crazy. #8 Northern Colorado plays #9 Cleveland State in what is basically a play-in game to play #1 High Point the next day. The #14 vs. #15 seed should have been bracketed to play High Point. I guess we lucked out getting the 10 seed, rather than having to play an extra game as the 9 seed.

Regardless of who is in the tournament, getting to the semifinals and/or finals would be a big deal for our program. Those game are on national tv (ESPN2) on nights when there are no NCAA tournament games.

No, I looked at it wrong. High Point gets one less game as the #1 seed. It was confusing since the first round occurs over 2 days.

RE: CBI
A-State should we beat BCC will get a day off before the second game.

Really crazy how it shook out. We were hearing it's CIT, we are hosting a "classic" of four teams and should we advance would get home for semifinal then boom late afternoon it's scratched and we going CBI.

The power and near power teams pouting and skipping the NIT I think played havoc on the tournaments.

Last I saw only like six schools had committed to CIT. I know the CUSA champs Sam Houston have apparently passed on all the tournaments as well.

My guess is that A-State did the math and saw CBI was a better deal. No having to staff the arena for two days regardless of whether we won the first game. No mad dash on Monday and Tuesday to sell tickets and figure out whether to hold season ticket holders spots.

Best I can tell CIT was looking at ESPN+ which would have meant AState having to staff four games under the announced format. Easier to catch a flight to Florida get in some hotel rooms, pay for some meals, and pay the entry fee.

As I understand it of that entry fee you are guaranteed $2000 in NIL to your team. I guess up to the school as to how to distribute the money. More money for making semis and finals as I recall. That $2k across whole team is about $150 and that'll buy some air brushed t-shirts and a shrimp dinner.
