Wow that's a lot. The 5 mill a year from FedEx wouldn't go very far if you were to spend that much on just one player.

I cannot fathom any high school recruit commanding that kind of money unless they are a generational type talent...

Ok with me. I'm starting to be more interested in getting players who have contributed in higher level basketball, not just in AAC-level basketball. So that TX and Ill>Wichita and George Mason.

Coach Dan Hurley didn't mind getting Tristen Newton from East Carolina. There are some good players that come from non P5 schools. Look at DeAndre Williams who came from Evansville as another example. Haggerty came from Tulsa, just saying.

Especially a 16 year old. Louisville is desperate.

Agree. Local media will point to a specific example and claim it can't work. But it all depends on the player - not the conference.

Right, Kendrick Davis turned out alright for us...

Very...lock those two up and call it a day!

Edit Quiantinance not coming this weekend:
Quote:Jayden Quiantinance has rescheduled his visit for this week. Let me clear this up, this is not bad a sign. Memphis has the ball in their court, and everything is going great. This recruitment battle is a two-team race between Memphis and Louisville. Others are in pursuit though

Go ahead and get Moussa for depth and then save one for Jones and two others for late finds.

I haven't paid much attention to HS recruiting in a while, but I didn't realize Quaintance played for Team Thad. And I hear his dad was a big Penny fan growing up. Those are 2 unique connections. But at the end of the day, it will likely come down to NIL. Maybe we get a 10% discount, but we ain't getting a 50% discount.

Maybe it’s up to how Penny can spin it? He’s gotten several bigs into the NBA. The difference in rookie salary between a top 10 pick and someone drafted later in the first round can be around $3-5 million a year. Does he want to get an extra million a year over the next 2 years in NIL, or up to $5 million plus over the next 4 years when you factor in his rookie contract?
