Selection Show Watch Party
Greetings Rice Owl fans,

Join us on Sunday, March 17th in the Brian Patterson Sports Performance Center for the NCAA Selection Show and find out where our Rice Women's Basketball team will be dancing!

Doors will open at 6:30 PM with the Selection Show starting at 7:00 PM, with complimentary parking in West Lot 3.

ESPN has selected us as one of the few teams to be viewed on ESPN during selection Sunday, so we need our Rice Owl faithful to show up and support our Rice Women's Basketball Team!

Join our phenomenal players and coaches who won the AAC Conference Tournament in our first year in the conference, as we are excited to continue the season into the NCAA Tournament.

Will be watching from out-of-state. Looking forward to seeing the Owl Faithful represent on ESPN!

Don’t care what seed we get. I just hope we get a drivable first round region.

Hopefully everyone on this board who is in town will attend. ESPN will be there. We need a large showing in support our student athletes.

Also, when you rsvp, make an extra donation no matter how small or large. The Rice Women's Basketball Team has earned it!

Not talking about Rice yet, but I am sure they’ll get to it.

#11 seed Temple hanging on (barely, thanks to 3 missed FTs in the closing minute) to upset #1 FAU. Temple had a 6-point lead with just over a minute left. They than missed the front end of a 1 and 1, which could have put them up by 8. FAU drove for an early bucket. Temple missed a jumper and FAU's best FT shooter was fouled shooting a 3. Makes all 3 FTs. 1-point game with 18 seconds to go. Temple gets the ball inbound and is fouled once they cross mid-court. Misses both FTs. FAU with the ball down 1 with 10.2 seconds left. They race down court and drive to the basket, but instead of taking it to the hoop, Davis drops the ball to their center, who bobbles it and ultimately loses it to a diving Temple player on the floor. Ball game.

Rice men will have at least one (road) win over an NCAA team. Temple a few weeks ago was being investigated I guess by the NCAA for tanking games? Now they are a win away from the NCAA tournament.

Can the AAC still get two bids on the men’s side?

Yes, the FAU men are still effectively a lock for the at-large.

We basically need to draw a team that's not elite defensively. I don't think we can score enough to upset a team that prides itself on its defense.
