ESPN and ESPN2 Coverage of NIU Football
Number of ESPN or ESPN2 weekday regular season telecasts with MAC vs MAC (otherwise known as MACtion) since 2016 season.

Toledo - 16
Ohio - 13
WMU - 13
Buffalo - 12
NIU - 9

The below post made me wonder how much worthwhile TV coverage the NIU Football program is getting in relation to our fellow conference mates who are listed on this. NIU has ended up on the useless ESPNU/ESPNews (16 times) networks far too much for weekday games since 2016. He doesn't appear to consider ESPNU, ESPNews, and CBS Sports networks as Neilson-rated.

It's possible there simply isn't that much interest in MAC teams.

If that's true then just move all games back to Saturdays at the conclusion of the contract. We can go all ESPN+ on Saturdays like MVFC.

They included both pac 12 teams. That skewed that a bit, but other than that not surprising.

Also not a single CUSA team.

I know CUSA didn't have a contract with ESPN prior to 2023. I think their games were on CBS Sports Network and Facebook Stadium.

The Pac12 is effectively dead. Even if they raid the MWC for their best teams they won't maintain their previous power status designation. The P4 conferences aren't going to let them and that would mean more money they have to share for CFP and one less playoff spot from them.

Does this number include CBS, ESPNU and other ESPN affiliates?
