Sounds like Pope is their target now. As far as possible trickle down effects go, that’s probably the best thing possible for UAB.

Assuming Andy isn’t Mormon, I think you are safe this time.

From Hoopdirt.com

"Chris Shumate has departed the staff at Georgia Southern and sounds like he will end up with Andy Kennedy at UAB. Shumate had been at GSU for the past five seasons, and also worked at Cincinnati, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Northern Kentucky."

I had heard a rumor about adding a new coach to the staff but this wasn't the name floated around. Was there a change in the rules where you can add more assistants

...might end up as an 'advisor' or whatever, sorta like those 15-20 extra folks Dilfer always has on the sidelines...

RE: Head Coach Andy Kennedy
He was the associate head coach at GSU last year and has pretty extensive experience. I doubt he's coming just as an advisor.

I would say it's a nice addition to have Coach Cross as associate HC and add another assistant who has associate HC experience.

I wonder if someone is leaving that created the opening.
