Is it correct we've never beaten WSU? I don't know how many times we've played them but I do know we played at least once or twice when they were on their great run in the 2010s. Beating them would be nice, and they're pretty bad so it should be an expected win.

I know they're not a good team, but I got really into college basketball ~2012, right when they were getting rolling, and so in my head they were still the team I wanted to play the most when we transitioned to the American. I'm so excited for this game and I hope we show up and kick ass.

You can see the flaw of the NET system when a team 6 games below .500 is solidly ranked in the top half of all of D1 basketball. There’s what, 358-363 teams?

The net is absolute trash. Should be put into a dumpster, set on fire, then sealed, placed on a rocket and blasted into outer space. Then nuked up there.

If we are being honest. Lose to USM, Ark State, and Rice and you’d get punished by any other system too. I know our situation is why many people are griping about it. Just asking folks to be objective.

UAB fans are hardly the only ones complaining. What is going on with the MWC and Big 12 would make anyone complain.

SVP had a bit today or yesterday on Sportscenter about the Big 12 gaming the NET. They have 10 teams ranked 45 or lower in the NET and he highlights a couple of teams, Cincinatti and Iowa State, who played really weak OOC schedules but blew teams out. This leads to high NETs by the time conference play works and it never really drops because you're only playing other high NET teams.

In a strange way, is this why we were better off last year?

We could finish this year with more Q1/Q2 wins, and fewer Q3/Q4 losses. Time for the AAC to look at this and figure out what to do.

Regarding the game tonight, I expect a battle. WSU has played Mempiss and FAU both to the wire on the road. They don't shoot the ball particularly well, so staying "connected" as AK likes to say defensively will be critical.

If you rounded up the contents of every pooper scooper in every dog park in the United States of America, then dredged the sewer system of every major U.S. metropolitan city, then sent in backhoes to dig up every rural septic tank, and then pooled all of that sludge together into a giant freaking bag, it would stink less than the NET. What a horrid system to use to evaluate teams. It literally sets you up to reward playing crappy competition, and as long as you curb stomp said crappy competition, you will then be rewarded by playing other teams who similarly scheduled bags of random poop. The people who invented it, and definitely anyone using it as a serious system for analyzing teams, should be waterboarded with said giant bag contents until their eyes turn brown.

Would go a long way if you can get 10-15 from AJ consistently. Good start from him.
